You got a cluster frick of a group scheming with him, IMO.

You got Crowton...which nothing needs to be said.

You got got a aspiring, young OC in waiting who was tired of being left out at Florida. Has no experience as a OC.

We got a previously failed OC in Ensminger and was demoted to HS ball, then came back!

We also got a lazy arse OL coach who originally was a OC...but eventually decided to coach OL instead because hes fat and lazy.

...And then we have Miles. SEC better watch out!

wow. I thought this was a joke. If I remember correctly the only reason he even got a job at Auburn was so his son would go to school there right?

you try and tell a guy with an ego (all coaches have them) that he needs help and check the response you get...

If we're not going to hire my much ballyhooed linebackers coach and go with a TE coach instead, I'd like to see a young, youthful guy with energy in his 30's who can recruit get the job, not some punkass 50 something year old retread.

I don't see how their egos are going to match either...especially when all of them are proven failures except Gonzo.

he definitely went to Auburn for a while before going to Tech. I remember some shite being said that his pop was retained or something when he went to Auburn.

he was more than likely only recruited because his dad had that job

How are they proven failures? Because they have had some bad years? They have all had good years too.

This hire isn't great and it isn't bad. It's a TE coach, so I'm not going to be too disappointed or excited either way.

I haven't followed Ensminger's coaching career that closely but what I do know of it, I'm not impressed.

That being said, anybody on here other than an old timer like me who actually saw him play doesn't know jack-shite about his college career with LSU. Any specaultion about his "unhappiness" with sharing duties with David Woodley or his ineffectiveness as a qb is speaking from the wrong end of his gastric tract!

Both he and Woodley were not pleased with the situation but only as competitors. They both knew when they came to LSU that Mac had a 2 qb system and they were going to share playing time.

Ensminger was a better pure passer and it was he that had the big game with Carlos Carson against Rice. Woodley was a better runner and Mac used him that way although he was a very good passer as well.
The biggest complaint regarding this situation came from those who know best all things concerning LSU fb-the fans! The fans favored Ensminger as he was a hometown boy. Woodley always wondered why he could never make the fans happy.

As a college qb, Ensminger was an above average player and had not he and Woodley split time, he probably would have left LSU as one of the all-time greats.

So anybody on here who wasn't around to see this era of LSU fb, you don't know the slightest damn thing about it so stfu!

He was an assistant coach at West Monroe, his son was in the 9th grade. Got the job at Auburn and moved family, son wanted to come back to West Monroe in his Junior year. Ensminger and wife got a paper separation she moved with son back to West Monroe. After senior year son got scholarship to Auburn, separation papers were trashed and everybody moved back into one house. Son could not make team at Auburn, transferred to LaTech. Now on 4th team or out of football.
Ensminger back at LSU. Oh my!

he cant be that bad

JAson Campbell, BTW, had like a different offense every year at Auburn. And he wasnt the brightest bulb to say the least

and he was still a first round pick

from the looks of his bio he has a pretty lenghty resume of being a QB coach at some pretty good schools

A&M, Clemson, UGA, and Auburn.

I dont see how he could hurt Jefferson's development after he seemed so lost last year. Sure he'll be the TE coach, but you have to assume he'll work with the QBs too

Great post From someone who was there to see him play also. What I don't understand is why people on this board thing that Tommy T. was a bad coach. What was LSU's record against him? And if anyone watched Jason Campbells career, He improved more that any quarterback that I can remember his senior year. How many rantards know Auburns record the year he graduated?

Most probably will work with QBs since Crowton likes to sit in the booth and never talk to his QBs face to face.

I always hated the fact Crowton calls plays from the booth and never interacted with our QBs outside the phone on gameday. All the more reason LSU should have a dedicated QB coach by now..

he almost got hired here last year, so I thought he'd get another strong look.
