I just took a gander over at the commitment list for Texas, and it doesn't seem like they are getting the quality talent they usually round up. The kids look good, but not the level they should be gathering in my opinion.

I think 6 of their 12 commits are on the Rivals250 to watch.

I don't know if they are better now at this point then they were last year, but right now their class is incredible. They have 12 commits so far. It will be probably LSU and Texas that will battle it out for the recruiting title this year.

I bet a lot of their recruits move up in the rankings after more camps and their senior year. Texas staff surely has a better feel for the players than the sites do right now.

Why are people so enamored with Texas on this board?

Because like it or not LSU needs to recruit Texas to be good.

What Texas does affects LSU, same as what LSU does affects Texas.

because Texas is a talent rich state and it's next to us.

Texaswill, your assessment is correct but it doesn't appear the talent at those positons is as good as last year. since you got edmonds, is it a slam dunk that we keep randle? also, what is going on with the running backs? texas hasn't gotten the top FBs in the state in 3 or 4 years.

It doesn't matter how well they recruit, athletes turn soft once they commit to Texas.

some of their fans are already unhappy with some of the guys too.
especially the offensive linemen:

quote:

Not at all happy with the OL. We can't do better than that?

quote:

WHAT THE frick ARE WE DOING!?!?! Why in the world do we keep bringing in 250-260 pound kids and then wonder why we get buttfricked by teams with decent D-lines

quote:

If we don't get Greenlea and Flowers, then this is another OL disappointment..... extreme!

quote:

We don't have time for projects on the OL either, even if they did work out. We need guys that will be ready to play by their second year in the program. If we don't land 2 out of Westerman, Flowers, and Hegarty, then this year will be a failure for OL recruiting.

Randle had expressed as much early interest in LSU as he had in UT before having an offer from either

They went to the big dance last year we didn't. Let's not knock success.

I think WR and CB is a little down but the rest is pretty good. RB is the best Texas will see in a while with Brown,Williams,Green and Sims. I think Texas ends up with Brown. I think Randle is safe because we need inside guys but I would love to have him.

I'm sure the Texas corches know more than we do. They have 3 or 4 guys committed that are going to be top 50 Rivals. Take a look at each recruit and check out their offers already. Several are very impressive to be this early.

Three 5 star already! Those 1 star have not been evaluated yet, they will be 3 star.

I'm not sure they have a Rivals 5* yet.Scott,Flowers,Edmond and the DT they got on the 1st jr.day(I'm having a brain fart right now)are the best shots but I'm not sure any will start as a 5*.Scout is probably a different story.
