Is there anywhere to eat lunch there? We haven't been since the storm.

I know that Emeril's Gulf Coast Fish House in Gulfport offers a great 3-course lunch special on weekdays for $20 p/p.

I was there last weekend, but the only place we ate other than Emeril's were the Silver Slipper crab buffet (dinner) and Dempsey's in Lakeshore, right down the road from Silver Slipper. Dempsey's is good, not sure if it's open for lunch though. There are a bunch of chain restaurants in BSL (KFC buffet, fast food) and a couple of other little family-owned places, but none that really jumped out at me and made me want to go.

Trapani's should be open for lunch. It has moved locations since Katrina though and is now on Highway 90. Very delicious!

Trapani's

I heard that Trapani's has gone downhill since they moved to the new location... smaller portions and higher prices.

Well, we couldn't find much to eat in the Old Town itself. Wow-that place has changed. We ended up at a place called The Buttercup on 2nd street. Wife had a rueben that was the thinnest abomination of that great sandwich I have ever seen. I had the shrimp poboy that came on ciabatta bread with big hunks of ice berg lettuce. The shrimp were good. No kids items, so they had eggs and french toast. I felt pretty bad paying 40 bucks for that garbage.
