Hottest means that, geographically speaking, there are no other Div. 1A schools between them and LSU.
The theory goes that the more Div. 1A schools between a prospect's home town and Baton Rouge (insert name of any major football program), the less likely a recruit is to commit and sign. No guarantees, absolutes, or gut cinches, just playing the odds...

Yeah, Starkville is North of Philadelphia, MS, but only by an hour...so the theory doesn't work when the kid is in another school's back yard.

Rivals: Recruit Search & Database
select:
select 2011 as the year
LSU as the school
check on one of the three boxes: "only prospects with offers", uncheck the other two boxes
hit search, when the list comes up:
then double click on the map at the top right
next zoom in on the state of LA:
LINK
You have to be able to read a map in relation to the other Div. 1A school to "get it".

yeah, I realize he lives closer to MSU and Bama, but he's one of the 2 MLB prospects I'd really like us to get

He says LSU is by far his #2 and can't wait to get here. Does anybody know if he made if for Junior Day? No article on TOS I don't think but he said he was coming.
