I posted this in another thread, but I thought some more might like to read it
Louisiana had no talent last year. Trent made a decision to keep his scholarships instead of giving them to undeserving players. By the looks of his next recruiting class, he was right.
there was not 1 player from LA in the top 150 last year.
This year Louisiana has 3, with LSU getting the best one (#71 player in the country). It takes time to develop relationships with coaches and players, especially since a lot of these kids are being recruited since freshman year.
Right now, we are getting the #71, #93, and #144 ranked recruits for next season. Add in a commit from the #148 player and that is damn good. We also get Malcom White from Ole Miss who will be an instant starter. So, we have the #20 class in the country + Malcom White. That is a huge step in the right direction. We need to get 4 year players who will bring the program stability, and then go after the 1 and done players who can bring us to the top 10 level

our recruiting class is great, and trent has already shown that he wins with talent
two 4 stars and 3 three stars is great for LSU.
Trent made the right decision in holding the scholarships. This year sucks, we knew that going in. I don't understand why people are bitching about something that we understood during the offseason. LSU will be fine, lets not sink the ship before it gets its sails up

I think everyone knew this year would suck. Next year will be Trents year. Everyone will forget this one.

I agree with you. Remember Trent called a special press conference last year and told us it was going to be bad this year.
we still need two more recruiting classes before being competitive.

I have posted this before, but it is worth repeating:
Trent Johnson's first three years at LSU, inlcuding next year, is likely the worst three-year period for talent in Louisiana in the past 20-plus years.
No 5-stars at all in that period. No 4-stars last year and likely no 4-stars next year. It is a high probability that Matt Derenbecker will be the highest rated Louisiana recruit in a 3-year period. I like Matt and think he will be a good player, but that is bad compared to the talent Louisiana has historically put out: Stromile, Glen Davis, Bass, Augustine, Monroe, Tasmin, etc.

Trent Johnson knows exactly what is needed to make LSU a consistant contender for SEC and national honors. This year has been very, very painful because TJ is basically rebuilding from scratch. We will be better every year from this point on. book it.

Just curious, who are the other two Louisiana top 150 players, what was their rank in the top 150, and where did they sign?
