I think the drive motor went out on my Xbox, but I opened it up and cleaned the laser eye and blew out all the dust from inside; therefore, voiding the warranty on it. I found a shop out of Shreveport called Cheap360Repair.com and they seem legit. They claim they can replace the drive for $54 and have a 90-day warranty. Should I send it to them or just buy an arcade model and use my hard drive? Thanks!

Give it a shot. $54 is better than whatever the Arcade costs.

If you know how to solder, you can buy the drive for about 30 bucks and fix it yourself. Its eight wires, four on each drive. Swap the board to the new drive and your done.

ebay. There are 4 types of drives, just figure out which one you have and order it. There are a ton of websites that will go in detail about swapping it out.

I wouldnt worry about flashing the firmware or any of that, just swap the board to the new drive and be done with it.
