If we get our heads on straight we will see that things look a little different up close. There has been a drop in morale and rightfully so but...
Lets put things in perspective. This years class is good. We have another really good back (Spencer Ware) to go with MF. We hopefully (baseball) have an impressive QB in Zach Lee. along with a good not great group of local talent as well. A top 10 or so class come Wed. All this stink about DT's is not just. Yes, it sucks we lost out on Marsh and a few others but we have a really good mix of young guys. We all agree Downs will beastmode for a few years. The talks of Davenport switching to OL will be forgotten due to this class. Logan, Brockers etc... will be a deep albeit not proven mix.

Now as far as receivers go. This year we will be fine. RR, TT, RS etc... along with this years class will be fine. Missing on Davis, Hunter, and Reed blows. Hitting on Wright probably Boone and Williams=pretty damn good.

Missing out on these players is a result of many factors. Coaching changes had a big part in this. I really think the gain of losing McCarthy = the loss of some recruits. Including his crap with Reed. Yet next year we want room for the 11 crop. Right?

Its not Doom and Gloom. We all forget what we already have and what is coming. Things were down but are looking bright. Billy G is great for Shep. Great class last year, good class this year, awesome next.

That needed to be said in the worst way and you did a good job of saying it.

However, if I have one point of disagreement with you it would be regarding the DTs. I believe that you need to sign two high quality DTs every single year and it looks like that is not going to happen.

But you are right. We are going to have a good top 10 class. We caught some bad breaks this go around but the coaches did pretty well in damage control mode and we will be okay.

I would love to believe you are right. What we have and what we have coming is the next football season. Recruits, no matter how many stars they do or don't carry, are only as good as they will be coached to be. Time will tell. One thing for sure, LSU will not have the good old reliable "inexperienced QB" excuse model to fall back on in 2010.

Very true, if anything the problem with our team is less to do with the talent and more to do with the coaching
