I agree 100%. I don't think many posters realize the impact that had on the program. That being said, LM is responsible for making sure the program has another QB ready to step in, and he failed miserably at that the past two years.

I respectfully disagree. Remember, Miles was lucky to get Perrilloux his first year because of his late start. (Saban didn't have ANY QBs in the fold, apparently, and Perrilloux said at the time that he wouldn't have come to LSU if Saban were still here. I've never been able to figure out why Saban neglected the QB spot his last couple of years...unless he already had a good idea he was leaving.) Miles DID bring in a QB the year after Perrilloux signed (Jarrett Lee) and another one the next year (Jefferson). (I forget which year Hatch came in, but there's a third QB.) None of them was ready to take over in '08, however. When Perrilloux was kicked off the team, there was NO QB with his experience ready to take over, and blame for that falls on Saban. Miles obviously knew what a blow it was going to be to lose Perrilloux. (As some have pointed out, not only did it hurt the W-L record, but has probably hurt recruiting a little this year.) But Miles did the right thing and kicked him off the team anyway. To me, that shows a lot of character.
