Loston will FOR SURE start at safety. Montgomery should start at DE alongside Edwards. And I think Minter may take one of the LB spots but I'm sure most will disagree with me on that one. I am aware he is a longer shot to start.

Thanks dude, I hadn't heard about Levingston being moved to DT. So what DEs have been moved to DT? Every other day I hear that Logan, Brockers, and now Levingston moved to DT. When will the new roster be posted?
Brockers was moved to DT during last season after Downs got hurt, but he never played(redshirted). So IDK if the move will stick or not(he has the size for DT). There have been rumors of Logan possibly moving inside but nothing firm. Miles has been telling DL recruits that Pep is moving to DT.
We likely will not find anything out until spring practice and the coaches have the opportunity to move guys around from day to day and decided the best combo.

Hes never even played. Hatcher and Taylor have WAY more playing time under the belts and have seniority over Loston. Im not saying hes not gonna start but I dont see how anyone can say for sure hes gonna start...

I say that from having watched Taylor play for LSU. I compare that to the atheticism that I saw Loston display in his HS videos and the All Star games. IMO, Loston was head and shoulders above most of the better players in that All Star game. So yeah, I think he SHOULD be a sure thing. But let us not get into the old "Miles favors seniority over skill" discussion.

Everyone buying into the hype. Those 5 stars are pretty persuading.

I said nothing about stars. I only said what I said because I saw him play on the same field against those same 5-star players to which you are referring and he stood out. And did so by quite a bit on the defensive side IMO. But you can keep hating.

Im not hating. I agree with you, but our head coach has proved he prefers experience and seniorty over raw talent. I agree loston should likely start, Im just not ready to say that Miles will start him.
If you wanna compare him to another ubber talented safety that should have started earlier in his career but didnt, you should look no further than Mr Chad Jones. However, it was under a diff defensive coordinator(s). We shall see. I hope Loston starts.

I see a talented yet inexperienced def. Personality I have very low expectations but I hope I am wrong.

I agree and hope we are both wrong about Miles in spite of the past.

While I agree with you, I really get a feeling that Loston may be a better football player than Jones. Jones is a SUPER all-around athlete but I am not so sure he is an all-world football player as he is made out to be. While way too early to tell, I get the feeling that Loston may be a better pure football player. And yes, I am aware I am making such evaluations from just HS and All Star game tapes.

After the last 2 years, anyone with any higher expectations are very optimistic. I'm with you on this one.

You said Loston has never played. That actually isn't true. He played sparingly and on special teams last year.
Also, the coaches were considering changing his position before Chad Jones left just to get him on the field.
I agree with what you're saying, that we shouldn't buy the hype until the kid produces on the field.
However, all indications suggest the coaches really really want Loston on the field, and that says a lot.

Brandon Taylor started over older players last year.
