Part of me hopes that eric thomas get picked up by another school and torches our arse because of the lame as comments about him on this board. I say we be thankful to get a player his caliber. Last time i checked Hester was a 2* per rivals and he turned out to be pretty good i think.

I have no doubt that Eric Thomas would have been a significant contributor, and put many of the coveted * guys to shame. People should realize it is only a way of evaluating and projecting possible success, it is not a guarantee. Wherever he ends up, good luck. I'll be watching just to remind folks on this board.

What's better a 2* or a player who hasn't been rated?

If he dominates Grambling, then it really doesn't mean shite.

Oh dear god. Never thought someone would say this seriously again.

I hope that recruits don't waste their time reading these boards for any credible information about LSU or the fan base. The picture form the outside would be very ugly.

makes no difference to me if he reads it or not. we have bigger fish on the line, and if he gets an offer some shite is definitely going wrong.

is it not possible that people aren't in favor of LSU offering thomas because they don't think he's that good, or does it have to be his 2 star rating?
i just don't see why you would offer someone a scholarship because he plays a position of need when he'll probably never see the field.

I go over there so irregularly these days I had forgotten what they looked like.

Myself also, however they bleed over into every other board to varying degrees.

Eric Thomas can play! The recruiting services are not God! For example ESPNU has no rating on Brandon Jackson at all. Thomas is a playmaker. He has that special something! You don't just look at speed and size. If you looked at just physical specs, Drew Brees wouldn't have played D1 ball and he certainly wouldn't be playing in the NFL.
Don't get me wrong - Thomas is not a Drew Brees in term of impact, but is way better than the recruiting services are rating him. For the last two years, he has been the "go to" receiver for Evangel. He is definitely a sleeper.

Like it didn't mean shite for Aeneas Williams, Jerry Wilson, Maurice Hurst, Rufus Porter, Gerald Perry, etc. What do you know of getting to the pros or performing on a high level, no matter the division?
Tell Jerry Rice, Richard Dent, Steve McNair, or the current HBCU players in the NFL that their competition does not matter. Tell Visanthe Shiancoe (Morgan State), Donald Driver (Alcorn State), Antoine Bethea (Howard U), Kendall Langford (Hampton U), and Jamaal Jackson (Delaware State) that if they dominated Grambling it didn't mean shite.
I'm sure that the NFL scouts that are very much aware of Southern's quarterback Bryant Lee and their WR Juamorris Stewart didn't give a shite if they dominated Grambling.
WTF gives you the right to come on a board and bash a legacy you know nothing about? If you knew anything at all, you would know that a strong Southern University athletic program would only enhance LSU's program. fricking clown.
