Duke vs Florida State

Could be a game to propel Scheyer back to the POTY talk. He has been off lately. With college basketball not having a dominant player like years past, its a wide open race. Devan Downey just entered the race on an unranked team.

Im expecting a big game from the Plumlee brothers. I keep asking myself when Coach K is going to start them together.

I think Wesley Johnson, John Wall, and maybe Harangoady are the lead candidates right now.
Scheyer has been in too much of a slump recently. If he doesn't get on a real hot streak, he will be ACC Player of the Year, a 2nd team All-American, and that's probably it.

Dont forget about Devan Downey he is averaging 30+PPG in SEC Play.

ACC Player of the Year pretty much makes you First Team All American. But I do agree he needs a hot streak and I would have to have add Downey to that list. 30 vs Wall last night.

Only games that matter is Ole Miss and Kentucky. SEC sucks this year.

It's a down year for the ACC outside of Duke. Lots of 5-8 seed type of teams but no other legit top 15 team for now.

damn, just started watching Notre Dame. Figured they would give Nova fits. Hansbrough fouling out on that charge was ridiculous.

Taylor King is such a moron. He sat out a year for the exact same role at a different school.

Vandy, Tennessee, and my Mississippi State bulldogs beg to differ. And Florida and South Carolina arent bad either.
The problem with the SEC is that it has a lot of bottom feeders including a 9-8 team good enough to beat anybody in Georgia (wins vs Tennessee and Ga Tech). Auburn, LSU, and Arkansas are horrible.

Agreed.
If Reynolds doesnt have his 2 single digit games....maybe 3 after tonight, is he a candidate?

Let's not forget about Greivis Vasquez in the ACC Player of the Year discussion. He's putting up very impressive numbers in conference play thus far leading a solid Maryland squad. I think GV has a slight leg up at this point in time thanks to Scheyer's slump. It's only a matter of time before JS breaks through and I have a feeling a home game against an average FSU squad might be the opportune time.

True, Vasquez has definitely rebounded from his slump early in the season, and is probably one of the top 3 candidates along with Aminu and Scheyer.

Can't argue with that list. I suppose Nolan Smith, Tracy Smith, Sylvan Landesberg, and Ed Davis are the best candidates for the second team.
The biggest disappointments have been Favors,Kyle Singler, and of course John Henson.

Do they go positions? Or is it just 5 best overall players?

Smith, Delaney, Favors(on hype alone), Singler(hype), Thompson?
