today I am reminded on a famous quote that came out not long ago

Travis Daniels said. "I play for the name on the side of my helmet, not the name on the back of my jersey."
I want kids who want to play at LSU, not kids who think LSU is the quickest way into the league. Yeah I know you have to have them to compete for National Championships, but this is starting to get really old.
This is why you should recruit the Curtis Carter's who plays WR, the LaRon Byrd's who play WR, The Ivan Robinson's who play DT, The Bryan Jones who plays DT who would've came to LSU if offered or not slow played.
But all of this is our fault meaning us fans. We pay for services of sits like Rivals and Scout. Hell I am in a Sonny's chat room right now waiting for his chat to start. These recruits hear how good they are, and think they are all that, and we fans eat all of that shite up.

And I am reminded of a quote the great actor Paul Rudd said in Forgetting Sarah Marshall...
"You know, when life gives you lemons, just say frick the lemons!"

So we should tell the Patrick Petersons of the world that we don't want them....gotcha.

Patrick Peterson never played LSU either. I am talking about recruits who leave LSU standing at the alter looking foolish, compared to kids who would do just about anything to come to LSU.

There are a lot of kids who want to play at LSU. If we adopt this policy, we might as well get comfortable with 4-5 loss seasons.
Meanwhile, 'Bama and Florida will be winning championships with the players who went there because they wanted "the quickest way into the league."
You recruit the best players. Period.

I was looking at the in-state guys for WR about three months ago, and started wondering why we did not pay attention to them. Frank Wilson was brought in to help with this type of problem. I have no problem with out of state guys (Lafell and Toliver are both from Texas). Things like this happen. No one could have forseen these events happen. They just did. My only complaint is that we should find kids that are not only talented, but who also want to play here- instate or out-of-state. That being said, I still have faith in this class.

He played Miami and Florida, though. The situation could be reversed. Indeed, the situation is reversed for Janzen Jackson.
You can have your Ryan St. Juliens, your Rockey Duplessises, and your Tyler Glynns......
I'll take Peterson and beat you 9 times out of 10.

Do I like kids doing that to other schools and coming to LSU, no I don't. But it is what it is. That fanbase of that school has every right to be upset at the kid for playing them.

Situations like these is why you need an early signing period in football. That way if recruits want to sign their LOI they can do that when they commit.
But LSU will be alright in the end. Our 2011 class is going to probably be number 1 in the nation. Guess what they are all Louisiana kids so far.

+1 here's to hoping we keep ALL of these guys

The great ones are harder to get usually, thats the nature of the beast. Lots of times, kids who are dying to come to LSU may view a major college offer as a dream come true, whereas the great ones know the offer is coming, its expected so its not that big of a deal.

2010 NSD isn't even here yet. All LSU has is verbals from 6 2011 players. Its a LONG way away.

No, they have seen the light and as such are forgiven.

The thing that should be of concern is the other coaching staffs ability to point out LSU's incompetence and inability to utilize talent.
