How in the hell did this team not win every game?? Mo was amazing. Shaq, Stanley, Singleton could jump out of the gym, Boudreaux was a solid role player, Tracey was an in your face bulldog, Sims was a Barkley clone. I mean, holy shite what a roster. THREE fricking 7 footers......unheard of.
Chris Jackson was the best I've ever seen. You know how you watch old games from 20 years ago and think, "Man, the game has changed so much and gotten so much faster." Well, when I watch old highlights of Chris, I still think there's no one who could stop him today either (kind of the same way with Pete).
1989-90 Roster

21 Lenear Burns F 6-7 215 Fr. HS Angie, La. (Varnado HS)
24 Vernel Singleton F 6-7 212 So. 1L Natchez, Miss. (S. Natchez HS)
32 Harold Boudreaux F 6-9 238 So. HS Arnaudville, La. (Cecilia HS)
33 Shaquille O'Neal C 7-1 286 Fr. HS San Antonio, Texas (Cole HS)
34 Randy Devall G 6-4 192 Jr. 1L Baton Rouge, La. (Lee HS/Garden City CC)
35 Chris Jackson G 6-1 168 So. 2L Gulfport, Miss. (Gulfport HS)

In many ways the end result of the 89/90 team felt much like the football Tigers of '09. So much talent , every single loss tough to swallow, proved they could hang with anyone. The only difference being, that basketball team did in fact defeat the two best teams they played, UNLV and LMU that year. They found ways to come up short against lesser teams, which is something that will always mar Dale's record. He found ways to beat many a great team and lose to many a lesser.

I'LL TELL YOU HOW DALE BROWN, he could only coach when he had a good bench coach, huckaby in 81 and tex winters in 86, that team was on espn as one of the top five talented teams ever. dale brown great recruiter, terrible game coach. ask bobby knight, thought the game was over till he looked down there and saw dale brown coaching. classic
