He was pissed at New Orleans for years after someone hit him in the mouth with a brick on a float in 1970. I believe he moved and stayed away for years. That said, I'll go with the spirit of Buddy D.

Not true. He lived in the quarter until the day he died. He LOVED New Orleans.totally NOT TRUE.
