Nope, he still looked confused and lost, not as bad as the beginning of the season, but not far from it either. he shows me nothing to think he has "it".

How many times did Flynn come to that line of scrimmage, Have no idea what to do, and looked totally confused about the game.
for all the people who said jj did almost as well as flynn....
do you see jj throwing that td pass to byrd as time was ticking down?
do you feel that if jj was the qb in 07 that we would have won a championship?
do you think jj completes that 4th down pass to early doucet against alabama for the td?

But, but, but his NUMBERS!!!! Numbers mean everything!!! his numbers are identical!!! His numbers were just like JR his soph year!!! That means he's gonna be a #1 overall pick too!!!!
-just in case you cant catch the sarcasm....
Good post

im waiting for people to come actually try to convince me that he would win a championship that year, blame the oline all you want, in 2008 Lee took 8 sacks all year, in the 2 starts and half game against ole miss JJ took 9... some qbs dont get rid of the ball in time..sacks are drive killers, especially on second down after we were in second and long after a failed first down play this year. Yea JJ had good numbers, but he missed many receivers and was gun shy. He is sack prone because he is either afraid to get rid of the ball or he doesnt see the coverage enough to anticipate receivers getting open.
Hopefully JJ progresses, but personally he is gonna have to progress leaps and bounds.

i wish he would too, but it aint gonna happen...he doesnt have "it" people just dont realize that the majority of the O's problems stemmed from him...I'm sorry but the O-line gave him plenty of time to throw the ball...Run game wasnt there b/c D-Coord's stacked the box against us and made our young QB beat them...and it damn near worked vs...Tech, Miss. St. Vandy..Wash..and it did work vs the losses...
Not saying the o-line doesnt need improvement but 4-5 secs is plenty of time..3/4 of the sacks were him...

If he still can't throw the deep ball accurately, we are fricked.
Posted on 1/14/10 at 10:47 am to TruLsu
Yes he'll improve. Many of his accomplishments will depend upon O-line play, a running game, and play-calling that plays to his skill set.
I think a lot of people are going to be eating crow. Objectively, it's hard to imagine that we don't improve to some appreciable degree. JJ has the tools to at least be a part of that--if not lead it.
Standby. I think next year will be decent.

I recall him being outside the pocket on half of the sacks when he could have easily thrown it away.
His completion % numbers are misleading because he ate the ball and took a sack when he should have been launching the ball OOB.

He'll be better, but "Better" doesn't mean "Great" or even "Very Good." I see a career Marcus Randall there. I don't see him being good enough to lead us to an S.E.C. or S.E.C. West title and that's the only thing that matters. Maybe Gonzales can do something with him, but that's a big ????, being that he's never played QB or coached QB's before.........

Flynn was a 23-year-old 5th year SR. JJ was a 19-year-old 2nd year SO. If ya'll are too stupid to realize how significant a difference that is, there's no use conversing with you any more. And we have no idea how Flynn would have done at 19, because his arse was permanently glued to the pine

1. myth...there are QB's out there have done well at his age and year in school...
2. So, next year when we have the same problems are you gonna say well he's only a 20 year old junior that has started in games for 3 years?

My opinion is JJ will end up being nowhere remotely close to as good as Flynn was

It's no myth. It is an absolute fact that JJ last year was a 19-year-old SO and in '07 Flynn was a 23-year-old SR. What any other QBs have done is completely irrelevant when it comes comparing Flynn to JJ.

I doubt it will come up. However, despite playing experience, I will always know there's a big difference in the maturity level of a 23-year-old and a 20-year-old.

Your opinion is kind of retarded because he's already remotely close to as good as Flynn was. If he has any sort of normal progression, by his SR year he should be significantly better. Now,
I love Flynn and think he's somewhat underrated on here. He wasn't perfect, but dude had huge balls and was clutch at the end of games. Whether or not JJ can develop that I don't know. But we also don't know if Flynn would have displayed that if he had had to play so early in his career.
