Featuring your #23 LSU Tigers

LINK

LSU Tigers
Losing offensive tackle Ciron Black and guard Lyle Hitt is huge. Ditto for tailback Charles Scott, linebacker Harry Coleman and safety Chad Jones. But LSU is one of the few programs that can bounce back from losses like that. Remember, the Tigers still have quarterback Jordan Jefferson, linebacker Kelvin Sheppard and Patrick Peterson, who might be the nation's best corner.

I figured we had enough street cred to stay in the 11-20 range.

Oh well, more motivation.

Sad that both Saban and Pellini can both take over mediocre programs and have better teams than LSU in only their 2nd year at AL and NE. And Miles got handed a Top 5 program.

Be happy LSU is still in the top 25. That will be disappearing too along with all of the other Miles trends his first 3 years.

10+ win seasons gone? check.
Undefeated in bowls gone? check.
Winning sec record gone? check.
Top 100 offense gone? check.
Ability to beat Bama, UF, Ole Miss gone? check.

Enjoy the modicum of success while it still remains.

As bad as Miles is at times, 9-3 will get in ranked in the top 25 every year.....

LSU hasn't finished 9-3 or better since 2007.

LSU finished 8-5 in 2008 and 9-4 in 2009.

Of those 17 wins, 8 have come against:
Appy State
North Texas
ULL
La Tech
Washington
Troy
Tulane

Enjoy the top 25 while it lasts.

23 seems fair to me with the questions of coaching, etc. Lesley has a lot to prove. Perform well and the rankings will adjust accordingly.

u guys r kidding right les has done a great job recruiting he got the best class in the country last year after an eight win season the only problem he had was the clock management in the ol miss game. the big big big big big problem is GARY CROWTON his has the fastest team in the country and we are 112 in the FBS pathetic. his system is awful and so is his play calling with charles and keelan gone all we have is chris murphy in the running game i say its time we see the spread in baton rouge. and then maybe just maybe he will use Russell shepard more

His stellar recruiting certainly explains the OL problems and DL problems.

Yeah, that's the only problem.
quote:

GARY CROWTON
Should have been fired in December, yet was allowed to coach the Cap One and is being retained next season. Who to blame? Who to blame? Crowton isn't going to fire himself. And Les Miles fires NO ONE.

Crowton runs the cheez wizard spread.

Get used to it. Miles has gone undefeated in Nov/Dec games once. In the previous 5 seasons to Miles, LSU had done it 3 times.

LSU lost 3 of its last 5 in 2008 as well.

Three Big Ten teams in the top 10 (2 in the top 5) and only one SEC team? What is the world coming to?

P.S. Mostly kidding. I understand that it's a way too early preseason poll.
