Their menu varies. But it's all good. My wife and I have gone there several times and are never disappointed in the food or service.

Gnocchi with crab meat is on fire. And as he said the menu varies

Gnocchi is a no-brainer for an appetizer.

This time of year, they just might have lemonfish or pompano served with crabmeat, and that's an awfully good bet.

Anyone know the price of their degustation menu?

Last time I ate dinner there in May, I think it was $175...it didn't look all that exciting, to tell you the truth.

August is damned good. Go there.
Much more interesting than Commanders

Well, I think they do change up the degustation a lot (they ought to for the price!), but you can still take her there for a dinner that isn't a tasting menu.

It's pretty formal, in case you were looking for a particular kind of place.

Yeah I figured it was a formal place... I went to a restaurant in NY once that had an 8-course tasting menu I tried... that shite was $250/ person. It was fun to do since I never tried anything like that before, but the food was too complicated for me.

Nonetheless, I think I'll give August a shot since we've both been wanting to go... just don't want to be disappointed, ya know

I prefer CP over August myself.

FWIW, you can do a chef's tasting at Commanders that's every bit as "edgy" as anything you'd get at August.

Both are great places, though, and one could not do wrong choosing either one.

I really, really regretted not doing this a few weeks ago. It was $70 for six courses with a drink in between - this was their Reveillion special.

Someone didn't want to do it because the bread pudding wasn't a part of it - I should have pushed for it harder.

August is amazing. Ate there last Friday. Gnocci was great. I had the Berkshire pork trio. If you love pork don't pass up. Wife had the venison which was very good.

or told to them not be a retard and just order the bread pudding in addition. Then, take a collection from your table of $3 per head and give to that person to pay for their god damned bread pudding, just to to show them how petty they were being. I am assuming that would be my course of action b.c i would be knee deep in .25 martinis, and when i drink clear liquor things like that happen.
