The Tigers’ current roster stands at 67 with a maximum of 25 recruits coming with the 2010 signing class.

For LSU to be at the NCAA-allowed 85-man roster, that means at least seven current underclassmen won’t be around by July 1.

Is guess a kicker and qb would leave. And a wr or two. And at least 1 greyshirt

Akiem Hicks
Jarrett Lee
Chad Jones

That's my guess at 3.

Just guesses:

J. Lee
Cordian Hagans
Ryan St. Julien
Josh Johns
Josh Williford
Rockey Duplessis
Akiem Hicks

Maybe C. Tolliver depending on how he comes back from injury.

Are players told to leave or asked to leave?

Scholarships are one year deals. They are not renewed when coaches need to make room.

I knew they were one year deals, but I always thought they wouldn't take one away from a kid unless he was a problem kid on the team.

With the lack of depth at the OL I doubt they would ask anyone to leave. Wiliford might get homesick and end up at Troy if he doesn't get to play. I've heard from several guys that he is too soft and slow for his size. He will take longer to develop than people might want.

Why would Chad Jones leave?

Based on what I've seen in the NFL. There will be a premium on guys in the secondary in this coming draft. Although, I personally hope he stays while Loston gets integrated with significant playing time at the Safety position.

Jones value is in baseball. Left handed pitchers are coveted.

If he doesn't enter the NFL draft, no doubt he'll be drafted this summer. But I'm not so sure he'll be a pitcher. He was drafted out of HS as a hitter. I'm curious to see if he skips spring ball so he can play baseball full-time.

he's one of hundreds in baseball and one of few in football. I think his future is with football. Plus he would have an easier time getting into baseball after a few years if he wants than he would with football

I don't profess to know what his future holds, but I know he has repeatedly stated he likes baseball more than football. He was also very close to signing with the Astros out of HS.

We'll know soon if he doesn't enter the NFL draft this week and if he skips spring practice.
