There are definitely some issues. Shooting in that Bama game was terrible. But they kept playing and even stopped the blood-loss some in the 2nd half. It was a massacre, but they at least kept trying until the end.

TJ is going to have to work with them a lot. There is a lot of room for improvement with some good players. He has his work cut out fr him, but I think he can do it.

this team is just out-talented in most games.

People don't realize that Trent could have made some short term moves, like signing a bunch of junior college players, and we would be better this year. He elected to lay a solid foundation with this incoming class and take it on the chin this year.

I applaud him for it.

With our top 10 recruiting class and with White being eligible, we will be much better next year.

Saban I went to the game last night and it was mostly depressing.I did see most players trying hard but not having sufficient skills to compete. They can certainly improve but I question how much. They can't make shots inside or out, they are extremely careless with the ball and tried to dribble to beat Ala.'s press instead of movement and passing.Maybe that's because they have so much trouble trying to pass.I like Trent and for his sake I hope he gets some studs to commit to LSU.

mostly just a young team. They have talent but Bo and Mitchell can't do enough to get this team going. I think gradually as TJ has more time to bring in solid classes year after year, our program will improve.

This team will get out-talented in all SEC games save maybe Auburn and one or two others.

HOWEVER.......!!!!

That does not excuse the pitiful and weak efforts against both Xavier and Bama in my book.

Georgia was extremely out-talented by Kentucky,IMHO moreso than we were by Bama...yet they played the Cats to the end at Rupp.

I can live to some extent with the talent issues. And, I didn't wholly agree with Trent's strategy to sacrafice this year for the future good but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on that.

What I can't live with is lackluster effort and intentsity and that's what we saw yesterday and that's what we saw against Xavier and quite frankly is surprised me and greatly disappointed me.

Now that's twice this year. That's it...we can't see that again or there or deeper issues.

I thought UCONN and Arizona St. yeah we were blown out and played like crap, but at least we played hard and with intentsity. Anyone who says we did yesterday is delusional.

Don't know what that's got to do with anything, but if I see the effort I saw yesterday again he'll get the same criticism from me that he got today.

Because for some reason I can't fathom some in this thread think that the kids were playing hard yesterday. All I can say is they must not have seen the game.

That was a sleepwalk, half-arse, no-focus effort the likes that I haven't seen here in awhile and I've seen lots of bad basketball in the PMAC in my lifetime.

We have a good recruiting class coming in. We are a year or two away. Give Trent time to bring some talent here.

We are clearly out manned and out gunned. Trent will get a pass this year but he will live or die on his recruiting abilities. The Studs better be on the way next year.

I'm on record here well before this season started saying this year would require lots of patience Perry, and that the NIT would be this team's cieling.

I realize where we are talent-wise and willing to accept the strategy to forego this year for the long-term.

However, again...that effort yesterday was putrid as was that against Xavier. I don't ever want to see that be an issue here.

I like so much about Trent that quite frankly I was very surprised to see that. Because it very much was an issue.

All I could tell my buddy next to me was...well maybe he worked 'em to hard in practice and they're worn out...cause there was no urgency, no enthusiasm, not intentsity...nothing...and especially for an SEC openor, that was very disappointing.

IMO from watching the game, there was no energy in the arena from start to finish other than the Alabama players. Our guys looked focused, while LSU seemed to sleep walk for 40 minutes. Trent Johnson is a good coach though

You nailed it Bryant. A blind man could've seen LSU did not show up ready to play and played utterly without passion or intentsity.

I think Trent's a good coach too, but that might change if his kids, even as talent-challenge as they are, show up with that kind of effort again.

Effort is not optional IMHO.

That's one thing Alabama hasn't had a problem with this year under Anthony Grant. We aren't very talented, but we play hard on offense and defense. That will help us stay in most games we play
