N. La. fans not feel much love from L.S.U. fans south of Bunkie

Why do people in South Louisiana not like the people in North Louisiana.
A few years back on the Buddy Songi Show, radio, there was a collaboration with KWKH radio station in Shreveport so the people in North Louisiana could participate in the topic of L.S.U. sports but the people in Baton Rouge did not like having the N. Louisiana folk participating, they never gave a reason except to say L.S.U. was a South Louisiana school. Buddy tried his best to settle the smoke but to no avail and the N. Louisiana folk were cut off from Buddy's show after i think only two months.
This is a real situation that needs addressing. You read things like N. Lousisiana should be part of Texas, ain't nothing but hicks up there.
This attitude is not helping L.S.U.'s recruiting in N. Louisiana. The people in N. Louisiana do not feel welcomed as L.S.U. fans.
Many very good football players in N. Louisiana end up going elsewhere, this is a real issue.
North Louisiana fans do not feel much love coming from L.S.U. fans south of Alexandria.

I am from NELA and an alum of LSU and there are hundreds I could name right now who could say the same. North LA is a mixed bag of tricks, but there are PLENTY of diehard LSU supporters. Hell, The Monroe Civic Center banquet room was elbows to assholes back in '91 to hear Curley Hallman speak.
Some south LA people that say that haven't even been above Lafayette, so how would they even know?
That said, I like south LA better.

this. i'm from NWLA, graduated from LSU and have visited every corner, nook and cranny of the state for various reasons. the same can't be said for people from south LA, many of whom have never been north of I-10.
it comes down to closemindedness and hearing other south LA people perpetuate it and jumping on the bandwagon because they think it sounds cool to associate NWLA with Texas. people in Alex, Shreve, Monroe, Natch, etc. are just as die hard LSU fans as those down south.
and FWIW, there's a culture clash between coonasses and rednecks.

Only good thing in S. La. is LSU.
Cleaner, friendlier, safer in N. La.

Same here and some of the most die hard LSU fans are from our part of the state and know every little town in the entire state.

That's the dumbest damn statement I have read on here. And no one in South Louisiana roots for the Cowboys? Do you hate them also, or is it just the North La folk you hate? I know for a fact that there are plenty of people around Lafayette that root for the Cowboys. I grew up in Shreveport and am a die-hard Saints fan, have been since 87-88.

I've been an LSU fan since the late 50s & a Saints fan since the late 60s. If some coonass doesn't like me - B.F.D.

huh? you complain about closemindedness then claim most people from south LA have never been north of LA?
i dont think you should worry about people who think the way to be "cool" is to call north louisiana part of texas.

Think of the instrumental athletes LSU has relied on from NELA over the last decade...

You north louisiana yankees need to stop complaining. Y'all talk just as much trash about south louisiana as we do about y'all.

Uhh, no we don't. I've never heard any where near as many North La people talk bad about South La as I have heard South La folk talk bad about North La people.
