I can't wait to come back on here after Jefferson fails us again next season. It would make more sense to have one more mediocre season with a freshman QB who actually has passing potential. Not giving Garrett the start next season will delay us even further down the road. Jefferson's percentage is high because of the conservative short routes he throws. The people saying he looked "great" or has "improved" based on the Arkansas and Penn State games are absolute morons.

What makes any of you think CG is better? Have you seen him at practice? Watched film with him? I'm not trying to stand up for JJ here, I haven't seen the improvement in him either, but so far you're basing your argument for a QB based on what you've seen him do on the sidelines with a headset on.

Was it the pretty good 62% completion percentage? The decent 2.5/1 TD/Pick ratio? 2,100 yards? A better QB efficiency rating that JaMarcus Russell his Sophomore year? All done with the worst offensive line I've ever seen.

My thoughts exactly. So the offense struggles and every problem is JJ. Wow.

Why would anybody make the case for R.S. as the starter? This kid has no arm whatsoever. I agree he is good for running plays and changing up the rhythm, but no way should he be the starter and attempt to pass the ball.

Jefferson's great completion percentage was due to the hitch passes and bubble screens. The kid rarely threw downfield...and when he did, it was usually badly missing an open WR streaking downfield. That stat is misleading for sure!

The arguement that a sack is better than an INT is valid.....only if you are able to convert those long yardage situations (after a sack) into first downs. It was painfully obvious the LSU offense could not pick up 2nd or 3rd and long situations ALL YEAR. Those sacks were basically "change of possessions". the only benefit was we were able to punt in a little further downfield.

With all that said, I'm started to lean to the coaching staff being the #1 hinderence to JJ. As much as I think he is an average QB at best, I don't think we can start another rookie QB in 2010....unless JJ has a total meltdown in spring and fall practices.
