Anyone wonder what Sheppard was thinking after watching the Orange Bowl?

Do you think Richardson will get any carries tomorrow night for Alabama?

Sheppard probably thought that he has a much better lb coach that Georgia Tech.

Do not, I'm just saying that other programs find a way to get good players on the field without regard to their age. Russell Shepard, not Sheppard, can obviously see holes opening where our running back in the bowl game seemed to struggle. Who knows, maybe they might move Sheppard over to running back. After all, he is an upper classman.

Based on 2 runs??

Did you see the field? Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, or pretty much any NFL runningback would have struggled on that.

I'm all for getting Shep more touches, but the argument you bring up is weak.

Per Doug Moreau, Shepard really sees the holes well. Anyway, sitting close to the end zone of the bowl game, when we called a run play off tackle, there seemed to be "cut back" opportunities up the middle of the field. The cuts would not have had to be sharp. Our RB, at the time, kept running straight to where the play was called without picking his head up to see other openings. Anyway, lets hope for a better run game next year with whoever runs or blocks.

read any article on the game from both LSU and Penn State people. The players were afraid to make a cut in that swamp. However, LSU's problems on the run game were because many of their runs were out of the shotgun, so the coaches basically sent Ridley and Trindon into the game with one 5 yards to make up just to get to the LOS.

And "per Doug Moreau" doesnt mean much. The guy is an LSU homer(nothing wrong with that) and has said something akin to "seeing the hole well" for pretty much every decent LSU back.

It's truly amazing the excuse train you roll on.
I bet you're awesome when you frick up at work and have to explain it to someone.
You can deflect anything.

With a crappy running game, Shep is basically LSU's only chance for a breakaway run no matter what the ground is like.

When something isn't working, don't you think its a damn good idea to try something else???

No you have it backwards. Miles tries something till it works, then you will not see it for the rest of the game and maybe not for the rest of the year. Ask Charles Scott about the Kentucky game a couple of years ago!

Precisely. But, until it works he will keep trying. SO, if it doesn't work, keep doing it until it does, then quit.
