Didn't Vilma's play start to decline when he was in a full time 3-4 defense with the Jets? That, and the signing of Harris, is why he was expendable to them.

The 3-4 requires good D Lineman and stout Linebackers, I would be worried if we did.

no the Saints have effectively used 3 down lineman this season but not a traditional 3-4

We would need much better outside linebackers and a stronger pass rusher than Charles Grant opposite of Will Smith, but I do like the 3-4. It provides more blitz packages IMO
