I've never been one to be critical of Bo Spencer. I've always liked his game and still do. A few other s have already said it, now I'm agreeing with them.

He's trying to do to much and it's hurting this team. He penetrates blindly to the hoop, gets up in the air with no shot and no pass, and we get a turnover.

The 8 turnovers he had last night nearly cost us the game.

I hope Trent is able to settle him down a bit. He's a huge talent when he's in control.

Bo had some issues passing the ball last night. It was good to see his shot fall a few times.

We need to let CBass run it at the top and let Bo catch and shoot. It's games like this when you have 8 turnovers that stick in your head that a change needs to be made - to both the coach and player. I have a feeling this could help Bo in future games.

The most telling part about Bo, for me, was this:

Near the end of the game (I think with about 2 minutes or so left), Eddie Ludwig got trapped by a double team near the back corner of the half court (LSU actually let themselves get trapped in corners a lot during the game but that's another issue).

Bo is begging for Eddie to pass him the ball, but Bo is standing still, behind the play, giving Eddie zero chance of getting off the pass. Pretty sure that ended with a turnover. Bo has to put himself in a better position (i.e., move) to give Eddie a chance to offload the ball.

Bo, and the rest of the team, have got to do a better job of moving without the basketball and making much sharper passes. The blocking out at times on the defensive end was also atrocious.

bass needs to be the point cause hes smart and handles the ball well

spencer needs to stay at shooting guard cause he plays to out of control at point.....reminds me of tack minor at times and not in a good way

I dont want to act like "the man" or anything, but when I was calling for CBass at PG and Spencer at SG in the preseason people were giving me a bunch of crap about it...

Bo is an above average/solid player. Last year he succeeded because we had a superstar in MT and a great college player in Taz. Now Bo has to be the man and he's not that good. He's a good player and hits some nice outside shots, but he's not a great passer, he's pretty small, not a good defender. It's part of the reason this team will be 6-10 in the SEC. Trent will right the ship next year or the year after, but this yera is gonna be ugly.

No he doesnt. The team will be much better off if he stops trying to be "the man"

South, to be honest, I'm still not sold on that being the solution. Against teams with big guards, bo and cbass would struggle defensively. Another problem is if you start both of them you have no one off the bench that can run the point.

I know you still are big on the hight issue. It is a significant difference in height, but I don't think our offense runs nearly as well with CBass on the bench.

spencer has NBA range and i imagine the SEC games we win he will shoot lights out...but we will need to play every game like we did against SELA if we want to get 8 wins in the SEC this year...next year we are going to be REALLY good though

not really, he's best served as a 3rd or 4th option.

Like he was last year. And even then his efficiency was below par.

Sounds like damn near every point guard we've had since Chris Jackson (or whatever his name is now)

I like having atleast one big guard out there and the rotation we have no gives us that. Maybe start Bass and let Spencer come off the bench...

I understand where your coming from, but Aaron Dotson just doesn't need to be playing a starters role. I do think he will be a good tiger in the future, but I jsut don't think he is ready. My favorite lineup is:

1. CBass
2. Bo Spencer
3. Taz Mitchell
4. D Harris/Eddie Ludwig
5. Hurricane Warren

I think we have played the best with this lineup. If Bo isn't playing with other play makers he turns into an out-of-control offensive blunder, but when he plays with Taz and Storm he seems to calm down. Eddie has proved to me he can keep his head up and look for an opening and get some rebounds. D Harris will be good if he can get his back feeling better. He looked pretty good last night in his few minutes.

I had heard DH's back was hurting over the summer. Didn't think it was a huge deal though. I haven't gotten to see many games (ULM and the NIT games) but I've listened and followed on here. Sounds like Bass got a little quicker. I remember last year Courtney Fortson blowing by him all day. Do you think Bass and Spencer playing together can play good enough defense on SEC guards to keep the Tigers in the game??

No...We've squeaked by a couple of very average to below average in-state schools. It'll be a 5-6 win SEC season.

If this team finishes .500 in conference play it will be a miracle on par with the US Hockey team winning in 1980.

Gonna be rough but if you didn't think that to start with then well......I can't help you

I called 7-9 or 8-8. I'd feel great if we went 5-5 in the West

TJ said after SLU game that Green would play the 5 in SEC play.

ETA: Start at the 5
