Apparently yesterday would have been news guy Vernon Roger's birthday. I did a little Googling on him and now I'm curious. Anyone here have anything to share about him?

After he got fired from WAFB he openned a restaurant in the same shopping center as Buffalo Wild Wings on the corner of Bluebonnet and Perkins.
He was fired after the BR madam got busted and some of the names of her customers came out. And yeah he was into some different stuff.

yeah .. he was an alcoholic and whore monger that got caught up in the sylvia landry stuff ... she had written down, in detail, the sordid things she and her girls would do with clients .. ole vern liked to don a pair of huggies and be on the receiving end of #2 to the chest ... he actually went to trial and diane deaton was devastated .. after he was acquitted thanks to his lame "i am an alcoholic" defense, channel 9 couldn't fire him .. in fact, they had to pay for his treatment ... well, he relapsed and they let him go .. i believe he had gotten a DWI in the middle of the day ... deaton divorced him and, as others have mentioned, he opened a restaurant ... the black cloud of all of that shite followed him and his place wasn't really well supported at all ... he wound up killing himself and leaving a suicide note for deaton ...
i had a friend that was literally at channel 9 finishing the editing of his company's commercial when he said mike graham walked in to tell everyone he had killed himself ... he had selected deaton to do his voice over and she was in the room too ... he said she appeared to not give a shite at all and went right back to work finishing his commercial ... he says he'll never forget that ..

my dad worked with Vernon many years at WAFB
I dont remember much about him but he did start attending Parkview Baptist and marriage counseling before he killed himself
