Seasons greetings everyone!

With the approaching new year quickly on its way, we should start a conversation about having a new fark challenge for the new year. I suggest we open the floor for discussion about setting a new challenge that will get the creative juices flowing again from everyone.

Any ideas come to mind? Yurintroubl...What say you?
=================================================
Summary of ideas so far...

TXLSUCHE - have a selection of certain backgrounds you have to use and let the farkers be creative with what they put on them.
-------------------------------------------------

Bleeding purple - design a fark off of the pictures posted on the home page of several different websites on any given day.
-------------------------------------------------

Yurintroubl - Use a theme...not necessarily a specific set of images. Perhaps a couple mandatory "inclusions" could be determined, for example:

Theme: A Seasonal/Holiday Advertisement Spoof

Must feature at least 3 of the following:

Yul Brenner
A Well-Known Slogan/Tagline
Something associated with an NFL Franchise
A "Little Debbie" Product
Something Blue
Something Mechanical Invented Before 1900
A child behaving badly
A Mammal (not human)
Etc....
-------------------------------------------------

LSUTigahBait - What about something that doesn't restrict you to certain images?

Take "Digg.com" for example. You choose a website much like digg (or even use digg) and the challenge is to take an article and create an image that goes with it. You must select the site before the challenge and everyone must get their articles from the same place. The good thing about Digg is that it is abnormally weird stuff and would provide a lot of funny opportunities. You can choose any article you wish and people are allowed to use the same one. You most post the article, a link, and the image you came up with to go with the article. This would allow anyone to do the same article but would provide a plethora of opportunities seeing it changes every day. For example:

Title: 'Surprise' baby survives toilet birth

LINK: Found on Digg.com
-------------------------------------------------

Bone06 - I would be for having posters submit a collection of pictures and farkers only being able to draw from that collection. This would give everyone who may not have a good selection of source material a good shot. Taking the source material from only certain sites would work also. I'm not that good at farking but I would be willing to give it a shot.

I can say that the biggest problem I saw with the last one was that there were not enough background pictures submitted for the source material. That forced most of the entries to fall into the second catergory that allowed for outside material to be used. Maybe a better idea is to have a selection of certain backgrounds you have to use and let the farkers be creative with what they put on them.

Yes, the lack of background material was difficult. I designed the last "challange": and catahoula won hands down.

the primise last time was to see what farkers could do with totally random and unrelated pics.

Maybe you could do a challenge to deign a fark off of the pictures posted on th home page of several different websites on any given day. may I suggest:

astronomy

overstock

daily weird

National Geographic

animal planet

the last challenge requested farkers to tell a story with a random collection of images with or without additional images.

I thought you did a pretty good job with the first challenge you setup this year. We definitely all learned from it. How about you taking another shot at another one next year? Let's hear from some of the other regulars for additional input.

Very politely stated, and I shall gratefully watch form the sidelines.

Well then...I nominate Yurintroubl to run the next challenge. She's an excellent farker...has an appropriately twisted imagination and...is certainly authoritative enough to kick anyone in the butt who gets out of line or doesn't follow the rules.

I'll keep notes of contest ideas if someone will organize and run this.

Suggestions from everyone will be summarized on my first post at the top of this thread.

What else? Keep the suggestions coming!

What about something that doesn't restrict you to certain images? That sounds very broad but here is my thought:

Take "Digg.com" for example. You choose a website much like digg (or even use digg) and the challenge is to take an article and create an image that goes with it. You must select the site before the challenge and everyone must get their articles from the same place. You most post the article, a link, and the image you came up with to go with the article. This would allow anyone to do the same article but would provide a plethora of opportunities seeing it changes every day. For example:

Title: 'Surprise' baby survives toilet birth

LINK: Found on Digg.com

Story:
quote:

WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- A newborn boy in Winnipeg, Manitoba, is expected to fully recover after being born into a toilet by his mother who says she didn't know she was pregnant. The child was born in the home of Heather Richards, 33, Sunday morning while she was sitting on the toilet in pain, the Winnipeg Free Press reported Tuesday.

"I didn't know what it was at first," she said of her first delivery. "I thought I was dying."

Police officers were in the home on an unrelated matter when they heard Richards' screams.

They found the infant without vital signs in the bowl and a policewoman began resuscitation that revived him.

"When he started to cry, it was the best thing I've ever heard," Richards told the newspaper.

She said the baby had a small skull fracture from hitting the toilet bowl, but doctors told her the 4-pound, 9-ounce child would fully recover.

I would like to give it a run, hell I'll try anything once, well almost anything, lol.

I think yurintroubl and LSUtigahbait both have great idea giving both a defined source, and theme but allowing room for creative license.

I agree with HooDooWitch. I like the ideas by Yurintroubl and LSUTigahBait. Perhaps their ideas could be combined. Maybe a category of themes for farking and a "freestyle" category producing farks from sources like LSUTigahBait and/or BleedingPurple suggested.

Keep the ideas coming!
