I know this has been discussed to a nauseating level on these boards but I really wonder sometimes how all this negativism toward Miles, the LSU administration, and the overall poor attitude of LSU fans affects an outsider's (recruit, coaches) perspective on the program. It's amazing to me that with all the shite talk on this board, that LSU (Miles) is still able to attract big name assistants, and top level talent. It makes me wonder if anyone of real importance really gives a shite about what all of us think. Reading some of the rants you would think this program is on a downward spiral and I just see this disproven by some recent outstanding hires who would not come to a program that is in a demise like some have expressed.

You know, I think Tigerdroppings.com is pretty low on a prospective employee's "important things to consider before I take this job" list.

Seems like these negative fans want people to stop cheering for their team and for recruits to reconsider committing to LSU.

It is not about affecting the program - it is about affecting the message board.

If folks decided to use existing threads instead of new ones for discussing every single thought that pops into their head then it would be easier to ignore the ranting-for-the-sake-of-ranting threads and leave the others for some proper discussion.

As it exists - every single thread including ones about the sky color degenerates into Miles suckz, Saban's bigger dick, crowton is an idiot thread.

I don't think it has any affect at all. I don't think the university or the coaches care what we write on Tiger Droppings. It matters to no one of importance at LSU on any level. The same goes for recruits. I don't think they care either about Tiger Droppings. If it impacts ticket sales or donations then I think it matters what the fans think. Beyond that fans really have no say. It would be foolish of me to think anyone cared about my Tiger Droppings opinion. This will all play itself out next year.

Message boards have been influential at times(i.e. triggering NCAA investigations and maybe tipping the balance in terms of firing a coach), but I think the sellouts in Death Valley are what recruits/assistants see when they think of the fanbase.

I'd like to see another Curley Hallman era in BR.

They don't affect the Program near as much as they'd like to believe. When I come across them, I say GTFO and find a new team to root for. Who needs you?
I'm beginning to think they're best ignored and don't deserve a replies to posts no matter how bad it pisses me off. If all "positigers" ignored them, maybe they'd feel like outcasts and leave.

They also see a ton of spoiled, fat cat fans leaving early and leaving the stadium half-empty.

THAT affects recruiting because that is what they see.

I agree that the impact of this message board is minimal on prospective recruits and employees.

This has been a very well-modified board in the time I have been here. You can speak your mind and cuss but you can't go overboard.

I do think a bit better job could be done lately on the idiots who think they have to share their brilliance and start a new thread on whatever thought pops in their mind (I use the word loosely) instead of using an existing one.

THAT accounts for most of the appearance of "negativity."

most people take what's said on the board in stride.

I equate negatigers with the birds in Walt Whitmans poem from Leaves of Grass.
Birdies

LSU is an elite football program. no matter what this segment of fans you refer to are saying. other teams message boards have a lot of negativism also. because tigerdroppings is so lenient with critisism and allows open discussion, it is probably the most negative. tidesports, etc. is not known for their "free speech" and will ban you in a heartbeat for negaive comments about the program (esp saban). the majority of posts on this board are from the same people; they have the time to post because they aren't that busy with their lives (including me; a retiree). if a recruit, asst coach, etc. use a message board to decide their future, they are making a mistake. to say that young, immature, non-knowlegable, unexperienced and highly demanding and vocal fans have a strong influence on a program is wrong. when the ranters start running our program, we are down the toilet for sure.

"Negatigers" had an impact on the program with Dinardo and Hallman (and ohters).
You can make a pretty good argument that your 'positigers" are having a decidedly NEGATIVE influence on the program now.
The hwole positiger and negatiger stuff is silly and begs the larger question of the health of th eprogrma and what supporters do when systemic cahnges appear to be inte best interest of the school.

Negativity breeds more negativity and tends to spread.

Thus you see the complaining, sky is falling theories, Miles bashing, leaving stadium early etc.

Hey little biride with the yellow bill
Landed on my window sill
I coaxed him in with crumbs of bread
Then I crushed his little head.
