2010 Season Schedule

Posted on 12/5/09 at 11:15 pm
Sat, Sep 04 North Carolina at Atlanta, Ga.
Sat, Sep 11 Vanderbilt* at Nashville, Tn.
Sat, Sep 18 Mississippi State* Baton Rouge, La.
Sat, Sep 25 West Virginia Baton Rouge, La.
Sat, Oct 02 Tennessee* Baton Rouge, La.
Sat, Oct 09 Florida* at Gainesville, Fl.
Sat, Oct 16 McNeese St. Baton Rouge, La.
Sat, Oct 23 Auburn* at Auburn, Al.
Sat, Nov 06 Alabama* Baton Rouge, La.
Sat, Nov 13 UL-Monroe Baton Rouge, La.
Sat, Nov 20 Ole Miss* Baton Rouge, La.
Sat, Nov 27 Arkansas* at Little Rock, Ar.
TBD Sat, Dec 4 SEC Championship Game
Looking at this schedule, with a little fire under our asses, some young guys stepping up and some older guys finally producing when they get the chance, I believe we really have a chance to take it all the way.
Florida, Bama and Ole Miss at home, West Viriginia at home, North Carolina isn't much but the only other teams I think could honestly beat us are Auburn and Arkansaas on the road but if we are playing well, it would be a hell of a game and a great chance to prove something.

Alabama looms large. Tennessee is worrisome. The other games I feel good about our chances to close out.

You would think, but I doubt we will. If Mallett returns, I think Arky has a great shot.

If we play like we did versus Troy State and La Tech we lose both of these games. I think we could lose one for sure.

LSU could take it all, but they could easily be 2-3 headed into Florida if the same offense show up.

There is a completely different mindset when prepping for a ranked BCS opponent and Troy or Louisiana Tech.

Mallet does scare me a little...reminds me of Matt Jones, he just finds a way to win. He really impressed me when he played in TS a few weeks ago. They will be legit with a good defense. They honestly scare me more than Bama next year does (especially since we play those pluckers at home) and the 'Razors on the road.
As far as Tennessee, they will be ok but they have no QB. Playing us a few games into the season with no QB won't give them a good chance. Plus, all of their players will slowly get arrested so they will be using walk-ons...

Offense gets re-tooled in the offseason. We either get rid of Crowton and find an explosive O.C. or we get rid of the option, our young receivers step up and we utilize the slants and bubble screens again with better blocking and our running game finally breaks through. Ridley will rush for 1,000 next year.

This is gonna be the year for Miles. We could legitimately be either 5-0 or 2-3 heading into Florida. It really is gonna be all about the beginning of the season. I actually like that though, if we win those then we could very well start rolling.

I thought that would happen this year, but it didn't.
What if Crowton and Coach Stud stay?

Our offensive line was miserable at times this year. Having said that, I don't think Jefferson made may good decisions when it came to getting pressured. As a QB at a major college, bad coaching or not, you have to know that you can't hold onto the ball for 5 or 6 seconds consistently and think you won't get sacked. I believe Jefferson is better rolling out of the pocket. When he is in the pocket I think he worries too much about getting sacked and either throws the ball badly or gets nailed.

Don't see Tennessee's offense being a threat. No QB. If we have any semblance of an offense next year, we beat Tennessee.
Than we loose at least 3 games next year. Better playcalling alone would have gotten us the Ole Miss game.

I meant a re-tooled Florida team and then Bama and Ole Miss at home...
Florida may end up 8-4 next year if they lose all of the Jr's & Sr's that they have right now.

Thats a tough stretch - even with 3 of those games in Tiger Stadium. Miss. St and UT will be improved, I don't know much about WVU and "rebuilding" or not, UF is always extremely difficult in G-ville.
