The problem is not JJ, and it never has been. JJ has the tools to be a great LSU quarterback, and i believe that he will progress to be very good. The problem is that Gary Crowton does not put JJ in a situation to be successful. Think about it... LSU has (had) spectacular running backs before they got hurt, and Crowton didn't use them. You can't be a 1-dimesional offense with a 19 yr-old qb. Crowton sucks at running this offense. Throwing 37 times a game and running 14 times is not a great way 2 call an offense in the SEC. JJ is doing everything he can, and hes doing a damn good job. Crowton's the dumbass, and he needs to go.

Then why was he not highly recruited?

I agree that you beleive that, but thus far the evidence is to the contrary. He is progressing some, but not by any means quickly.

You want to blame GC for Jefferson's performance. Last year everyone was quick to lay JLee's struggles on JLee. Realize that Les and GC sent JLee out there to make upper classman type throws and more often that not he was successful. So, were JLee's troubles a result of being mismanaged?

GC was the OC for the Matt Flynn led offense that was the best in LSU history. Don't forget that.

Also, look at the end of the ARK game. It was identical to the end of the OM game, w/ the exception of S Ridley being given the out of bounds and clock stoppage. That was a very questionable call. W/o that call we are discussing this week why JJ had not learned not to take a sack after the OM debacle.

That said, I sure hope you are right about JJ's progress next year as our best chance for a championship is w/ an experienced Jr. QB. I'll be pulling for him. But, if he does not show the improvement that you are expecting, Chris Garret is likely to play.
