bert id be willing to bet anything that not many true sophmore qb check out of plays called by the oc.

Look at McElroy with Al Bama (and don't make excuses for months being the difference in ages?) And like Bert said, 8 can't block 5; a QB has to move out to the pocket and hit other open receivers that are wide open (these don't even get seen by JJ)

Now, please understand ... I don't know the kid personally and I don't care about color of of our QB skin. I probably got upset last season at one point and put down JL. I didn't throw him under the bus, his white H.C. and staff did. It is in the football grey matter that makes the real difference. Of the few interceptions JJ threw, there was a possibility with the team JL lead into battle that JJ could have easily thrown as many 6 picks. In fact this season, about half of the int. that JJ threw, half of those looked at one point to be possibly returned for 6 the other way.

Lots of supposition here. First, McElroy has been in the system (thus practiced) much more than JJ. Or did you forget the Mc's a senior? As for the whole "5 can't block 8" shite, let's not forget that some of these blitzes are disguised, our other backs in the backfield have been pretty poor this year at pass-blocking, and that offensive playcalling trumps blitzes more than anything else. Does JJ miss open receivers? Sure. Guess what? So does everyone else. The numbers simply DO NOT bear out the theory that JJ misses WR's.

And what about the rest of the ints thrown by Lee? They are all turnovers whether it's a pick 6 or not. The fact is they were not returned for pick sixes and he made an effort to prevent the defender from scoring on those. His turnover ratio was much lower which is part of the puzzle.
