I think TopWaterTiger summed it up pretty well. We only had one game where we really looked dominant (Auburn), and played down to the competition in most every game. The offense was a whole lot worse than I imagined, and the defense, although improved, was not the menacing terror I hoped it would be.

Les Miles is the Levi Johnston of College Football.

Most people realize (those with eyes and brains) that they are paid tremendous amounts of money for no particular reason and will be sent to the "What are they now" archives once their current gig is up.

because the 3 loses were more than winnable games. it's not like we were out matched.

Arkansas has been a competitive game throughout most of the decade and expecting to not struggle against Georgia, at Sanford Stadium, is just retarded.

I'm on a touch. Sorry for the typo and your lack of intellect to realize what I was saying.

What you are saying is not pertainent to the topic of conversation. So even without the typo nobody understands what you are saying. It sure isn't football related. Geography maybe?

Yeah, LSU wasn't impressive this year. Really didn't beat anyone notable, could easily have lost 5-6 and the continuing bumbling by this coaching staff is miserable. Trying to force a scheme on a squad for two years in a row is unbearable. Gotta match the scheme with the talent you have.

LSU is too talented (though some will disagree) to play as crappy as they have. LSU was very fortunate the SEC wasn't collectively as strong as some had hoped. Not a "quality" win on the schedule.

In the end though, we all predicted 2-3 losses. If thats how you wanna look at it, fine. Lets hope a new OC will not be another coaching blunder and LSU can actually win vs Bama and UF next year.

Best wins were Auburn, UGA and Arkansas were the best wins for LSU, and none had winning SeC records.

if you look at the question marks at the beginning of the year, maturation of the QB position and the C/RG combo were two big ones, and they really went no where for the most part. Shep was considered upside, and that didn't happen. All of these have to fall on the O-staff, and hopefully Les has those things in mind looking for the next group.

defense pretty much held up their end of the bargain...although 3rd down efficiency has to be a priority in the off-season.

In fairness to all the "fans" on here saying LSU doesn't have a quality win & listing all the "almost" losts, etc.: Alabama "almost" lost to UT (if not for a big fat arm in the way), LSU & Auburn (at least), & went something like 2 or 3 games without an offensive touchdown, & Florida could have (if not almost did lose) to: LSU, Arkansas, & South Carolina. I'm not saying that proves you wrong in your opinion about the coaching, but I don't think pointing to "almost losts" means squat.

The reason people are upset is the Ole Miss loss, pure & simple. It gave the ever-present, ever-negative, ever-arrogant anti-Miles fans ammunition to say "Told ya so" & made people on the fence about Miles (like me) very negative. All in all, between the offensive offense & the sheer about of moaning & bitching on here, I've never enjoyed a football season less & I'm glad its in the books.

I have no agenda. Do you want to disagree with the fact that LSU's best wins were against average or less than average SeC teams? I am just pointing out the obvious. Never been a fire Miles guy, mainly because there is not a whole lot of quality out there, not based on whether i think Miles is a good coach or not.

Good posts. I've surmised similarly. However, I did notice early on with Miles (well before this season) that he is very casual with the clock, which I find strange in a head football coach.

But a good quarterback -- and I think JJ is developing nicely into one -- can cure a lot of ills. Of course, the OL will have to be much improved next season to complement a more seasoned JJ.

I don't believe predicting the won-loss record is the equivalent of the program reaching it's potential.

Next season, I may predict another 5-3 or 4-4 conference record. That doesn't mean I think we're performing at our potential.

I am asking where do people who are as stupid as you come from? Based on the points made in the topic you are either stupid or didn't watch the season and are just making your arguments based on our record.

Let us wait until after the bowl season to say we didn't beat anyone of note. Pretty strong conference to have 10 bowl eligible teams, including 5 that LSU beat. Saying we could have lost 5 or 6 doesn't cut it since we didn't.
