It happened to me last night.

An LSU "fan" and his wife sitting in FRONT of me in someone else's season ticket seats asked me to stop yelling when we were on defense. I've read on here about people being asked to sit down by people behind them, but this takes the cake. I was so insulted that I proceeded to insult him until he wanted to walk outside to "dance". I then went and warned the marshall that the guy was threatening me for cheering. His wife got up and left and then he stayed for a few minutes saying, " I will wait patiently until the end of the game". Then he must have remebered that his boss had the car keys. Among the insults I told him was to go have some wine and cheese up in the boxes. After this incident and the chad jones personal foul, I was wondering what happened to the game of football that I grew up loving.

Isn't Tiger Stadium all about standing and yelling. This is what made our reputation nationwide.
You were right

Where do these people come from now days? At my first LSU game In 1982 against Florida State there was an old timer walking up and down the steps with an open bottle of Jack Daniels yelling and cursing like a sailor the whole game. No one said a damn word because they were doing the same thing. That used to be LSU football. Unfortunately those days are over it appears.

Man you summed it up so right. Maybe we were stupid back then but it intimidated the other teams. I know we sound like old farts bu Tiger Stadium and LSu fans were feared. hell I stayed at the Rice blowout by 70 points. There were 2 secons left and I told my date it ain't over and savor the big win. Of course we were walking home and had no traffic.

You went and got the marshall because you were scared of the arse kicking.
I would have left that part out.

Corporate marketing accounts, tailgating and TAF have ruined Tiger Stadium.

The guy wouldn't have kicked my arse plus I think wveryone in my section would have got a sucker punch in. I just was using a PR premeptive strike so as to try to stay in the stadium if that dude lost it. However, I certainly wasn't going to invite a fight when it was not necessary. I always let the other person throw a few licks before i start swinging.

Wow, you are my hero, grow up dude, seriously

When season ticket holders give up their seats, Turner Industries, Halliburton, ExxonMobil, Shell, Shaw Group, etc. are their waiting like buzzards to snatch them up.
And then during the week, the boss makes an announcement, "I have four tickets to Arkansas game this weekend for anybody that wants them".
And so you get a group of four people that haven't been going to games in person so they don't know how to be in the stadium. That's what Tiger Stadium has turned into. That's the four people to the left of me, the right of me, and in front of me. It's sad.

I warned Tiger fans this was coming when TAF stole control of Tiger Stadium and sports in the name of "keeping up with the Jones'". Real fans (non tired assed RV driving retired self righteous diaper wearers) have been priced out of the experience.

+1 on the Corporate
Looking into the corporate seats between the 20's last night, there were many, many vacant seats, and that irritates me also. But, then again, I realize this program thrives on $$$$$, and for LSU to move forward in athletics in all phases of the sports, it takes just that.

that and mutherfu%kin piped in music makes me want to freaking puke. The LSU of old is no longer.

This was just a couple who had the regular season ticket holder's seats for this one game, not coroporate seats. HOWEVER, the seats to the left of me are coporate seats. The only time it is the same people is for the biggest games when the boss keeps them for himself. And last night there was a first timer there with a child and yes, she was glaring at me like she was hating the fact that I was yelling when we were on defense. I think I am going to start keeping ear plugs in my pockets at the games and if someone complains, offer them to them. I hope i pissed that guy's wife off so bad that theie non-cheering asses never come to another game again. We don't need any more non-cheering fans because unfortunately, we got plenty now.

Now see those kind of people, I just don't say anything to. I just do what I've always been doing for the past 25+ years and if they don't like it, tough shite. The way I see it is they weren't sitting in those seats in 1989, 1990, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1998, or 1999. So they can stick it up their arse.

yeah those terrible people who create more money to pay Les 3.5 million, build new additions to the stadium, new practice facility, new 100 yard turf field, etc. Let's go get a coach for about 1 million, never make an upgrade to facilities, and watch every team except Miss State, Vandy, and Kentucky pass LSU up. Good idea. Half you people want Les out (15 mil) then hire a new elite coach for 4.5 mil. And do this how?

It's amazaing to me how many people come to the game...without ever seeing/watching the GAME. During some critical play there's somebody old/young, male/female walking by with ear in phone, head looking up in crowd. A guy bought two tix from us last night for him and his son. Spent most of the game texting. But at some point down the road they'll say "we were there for that one"... what I really get a kick out of are the "field pass" guys who have their head in stands hoping someone will "see" them..give 'em the head nod, thumbs up...Yeah, Baby!
