Stoops, Kelly, and Billick seem to be front runners but,
I still think Meyer is in the running.

Outside chance but, I just got that feeling yesterday watching the Fla. game; seems that some of the underclassmen are going to jump to the NFL, Tebow's gone, what more can he accomplish at Fla., and ND will pay him as much as he wants. Lastly, the coach that can bring ND back to being the power in CFB would rival Knute in ND football lore......

Not playing a cupcake schedule every year. I think Urban will stay. FLA IS FLA!!!!! BTW I don't think FLA will fall off as bad as most do. They will still be the fav in the east.

Like I said an outside chance, but you have to figure ND has been firing blanks with coaches(other than Lou)since Ara. They have to get somebody who is a proven winner that can sustain a high level of success over time. What say you?

Oh I agree. They need a BIG TIME coach. Kelly is NOT IT.

Against that schedule I could have won 8 games.

ND's coaching picks since Ara have been interesting:
1. Devine
2. Faust
3. Holtz (best selection)
3. O'Leary
4. Davey
5. Willingham
6. Weiss

Based on the disfuctional selection process they employ at ND, they could end up picking the coach for Mount Union...........

Meyer already has the best job in college football. He'd be an idiot to leave that for Notre Dame.

Notre Dame as a major football power has run its course.

Kelly has to be the front runner. He is the hot name right now. HOWEVER perhaps the Irish will realize that hiring another offensive genius may not be the best choice. They need someone to fix their defensive recruiting problems. They are a good offense that can't recruit a decent D-Lineman or linebacker.

I hope and pray that there Papal intervention, and Urban is called to South Bend by a higher power, but I don't see it happening. All the hype is over a comment Meyer made BEFORE the successes of the last 3 years. At one point Meyer probably did think Notre Dame was his dream job.

Any Gator Rival SEC'er who is trying to convince themselves that Meyer will leave the Swamp is delusional. Like it or not he has created THE dream job in college football. He has a recruiting MACHINE that shows no sign of slowing, and as all of us Southerners will admit, no one in their right mind, much less someone raking in millions, wants to live in Indiana over Florida.

Agree on all points.

It will take divine intervention to get Meyer there.

Agree

I think Meyer has to be ND's first choice but realistically can they get him - chances are no. That said, if ND goes after him anything can happen.

Meyer to ND makes no sense to me. Why would be want to leave a powerhouse to go there?

I could see Meyer leaving for the NFL, but not for ND.

Why? That's not even a lateral move from OU
