Will be in San Amtonio the week of Christmas...Any suggestions on wher to eat...Would love to find some "local" non-chain Meaxican...

Whatever anyone tells you...do not, I repeat, DO NOT go to Mi Tierra. It is quite possibly the most overrated restaurant in the great state of Texas.
Beto's has good empanadas.
Paloma Blanca is pretty good.
The Liberty Bar is probably my favorite place in San Antonio.
Le Reve is one of the best restaurants in the country.

Go to Mi Tierra's! Get the beef enchilada's and watch how much salsa you eat because its SPICY

Mi Tierra used to be excellent, but about 10-15 years ago totally sold out, still makes a good breakfast, but there are other much better places.
