Some of the maps are terribly big and boring in normal deathmatch games (the sniping map with the bunker in the center and a church on the outskirts), I can't imagine trying to play that or the snow levels.. or underpass, FFA.
They really need more maps period, but more importantly, they need a hardcore version of every game type.

The wasteland map you are talking about is fun IMO on hardcore team deathmatch.
I get tired of running and gunning and enjoy trying to counter snipe folks
