a good QB would have been calling the play while running down the field, but IMO, JJ is not quick to make a decision.
I WILL BE THERE SAT. NIGHT, not in support of LM but in support of the seniors and other players, LM has lost my vote.

I think you're right.

Indecision may or may not be his problem. . .

Depends to be honest. Its hard to expect a QB used to playing a check with me offense to suddenly start selecting plays and calling plays on the fly.

if he looked to the sideline to get said play, what do you think he'd have called?

Your right, a 19yr old kid who is a 1st yr starter can't make a decision and never will learn the game.

Get him out right? Right loser?

Calling what play exactly? The coaches didn't know what the frick to call. NONE of it is JJ's fault. If you wanna fault him for something go with not throwing the ball away and taking a 9 yard sack.

It doesn't matter how good you are if you are not prepared to know what the coaches want in that situation, which it was pretty clear he didn't. And if you'd say "well a good QB would know!", then a good QB would also know that the FG team should be getting their asses on the field.

There are quarterbacks that lead and quarterbacks that play a position.

LSU hasn't had a QB leader in years.

Tebow would've run it in for the touchdown.

Flutie would've drop kicked it through the uprights.

JJ does not have the autonomy to call his own plays. The system LSU's offense runs is that he looks to the sidelines for every play. This isn't Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, or Tom Brady running an NFL offense. What play do you want him to call while he's on his back at midfield with one second left? I can't believe y'all are trying to put this on him.

Since 07?

Anyway once again any fault of JJ's I am temporarily blaming on Crowton he was known to lack in the area before coming here and certainly hasn't helped that reputation.

Yea JJ should have really been able to call a play after getting smashed into the ground on the play before and having to limp upfield in the first place. Plus, he never calls the plays, so he can't be expected to do it in that situation.

I was at the game and I haven't had the heart to watch the video, but it appeared to me that Jefferson ran directly into the path of the oncoming rusher on second down. HAd he stepped up in the pocket, he would have been fine. Instead, he slipped out and backwards, into the edge rusher who had beaten number 70. My impression, anyway.
