Sounds like Miles has lost this team

Players openly questioning the dumb decisions to the media would have been unheard of even a few weeks ago. Now they are letting it rip.
I think he's lost the team.
I think he's lost the team.

Sounds like the team is rallying around Miles:
"The way he came out and said that says a lot about him as a man and as a person," senior tight end Richard Dickson said. "He's taking a lot of criticism and is going to take a lot of criticism so we feel like we're going to have to rally around him."
Ridley said Miles needed to take the blame for the loss.
"The team, that's something that we needed to hear," he said. "Because there's a bunch of questions going around. People are wondering, 'What's the situation? What's going on?' But coach Miles, for him to do that, it says a lot, and that's why I look forward to playing for him in the future. This team's got to come together, period."
"Any head coach that does that in front of their team, in front of their assistants and comes up there and says, 'This was my fault,' I mean it takes a lot for somebody to swallow their pride and say that, 'I messed something up.' He did what he needed to do. There's nothing else that needs to be said by him. It says a lot about the person that he is. I respect that he said, 'This was my fault.' Coach Miles, he manned up and said he cost us the game. That's all you can ask for from him."

I agree with you. With the comments I have read this morning from some of the players I think the administration at LSU has been placed in a very bad situation. Unfortunately I think they are going to have to address this issue as soon as the season is over.

well... Miles had never been one to throw a player under the bus or even come close. had always been stand-up when it came to that. now, he says he made a mistake thinking Jefferson could handle the situation. speaks volumes. and all of the uncertainty about him either calling for spike or saying Toliver was down.
players can't trust coaches that speak like that. it's one thing to motivate them, and another to question how they can handle a situation.
what exactly does miles do on the sideline if he isn't calling/approving plays, isn't managing the clocks and being aggressive getting timeouts called, not planning ahead for any situation encountered at the end of the game when we are down by 2 pts, or not remembering how many timeouts he had called, regardless of what a scoreboard says?

In reality he never had the team as demonstrated in all the times Jefferson was waiting for a play to be called. Many of us gave Miles the benefit of the doubt but now we see he is completely unable to manage ANY team. Dump him now and get it over with.

I think everyone is just feeding off emotion.
If Les loses the team over Crowton calling pass plays on the 32, and then JJ takes a sack, then they are weak as a team, which might explain why they have played so poorly on offense all year long.
Everyone is second guessing the calls...but it shouldn't divide the team to where the coaches have lost the team.. How about Hitt talk about how we were out played the entire 2nd half? the first 3 drive were 3 and outs..
Some of the players better man up and be leaders, because they are the ones who have to look in the mirror on Sunday morning and aske themselves "did I give my all?"

This is true from what I've been hearing. I heard an interview with Lyle Hitt on WWL and he said that Miles shouldn't have had to take the blame for something that happened in the last 30 seconds when the team could have made more plays throughout the game. I'm paraphrasing.

That's hating on Miles?
Muther-fricker some of you are just plain dumb. Like a doorknob. Damn!

so that means he shouldn't take the blame for any of it? give me a break. that can be when coaching is more important. Miles failed miserably

Scoop, I think Crowton will be the fall guy and deservedly so, but the higher ups need to bring in a an OC that can "Miles-proof" this thing and limit his ability to screw things up. I don't know if that man will be out there and available and willing to come to LSU, but we need to spare no expense to find him and get him here.
Our players and fans deserve better. Its one thing to get beaten in a close game by a team that simply played better or made a key play when it counted. Its another to have your own head coach and OC rip victory out of your hands.

Through the negative the team saw on Saturday, they saw a positive.
They saw a man, their head coach, stand up and take the blame for his mistakes. That, hopefully, will serve them well in life.
And after reading some of the players comments, it seems to have resonated positively.

In fairness to Les, he was referring to the calling of passing plays from the 31 yard line when he said that. He was saying he made a mistake to think he could trust Jefferson not to take a sack in that situation. That had nothing to do with the spike play.
I wish everyone would quit focusing on the spike. it was irrelevant to the real issues that caused us to lose the game.

That's true. The game was lost in the play calling on the last drive and the burning up of 17 seconds off the clock.

One player, Ridley. And all he said is that he thought they were going to run the ball.
You ignore all the other players that are sticking up for Les because it doesn't fit your argument.
I'm not dumb, actually i'm far from it, i can just see the forest for trees and not blame one man because it's the easy thing to do.

I think it was a issue before the Ole Miss game. Miles did not stand up for Chad Jones after the Alabama game, the poor planning and game management during the La Tech game, and obvious mis-managment of the clock and play calling during the Ole Miss game. The players see this and have to be disappointed and even stunded by Miles actions.
Bottom line is Miles has let down his players, school, state, and fans that have helped him become a successful and wealthy man.
If this was the first or second issue for Miles, it would be forgiveable, but we are now seeing a patern of poor coaching, decisions, and lack of player support that is causing the players to finally speak out. This will impact recuriting and continue our downward spiral until Miles is replaced.

Did you question your coach? Please respond.
I see comments from players supporting him.
Please answer.

I haven't ignored anything. Both Hitt and Ridley publicly commented on the play calling.
I have actually calmed down quite a bit and didn't come here with an agenda.
Reading your idiocy drives me nuts though. And part of being dumb is not knowing that you are dumb.
The real question was whether Miles has lost the team and it looks as though there are arguments to both sides. I hope he hasn't. You just take one side and run. You are dumb.
