Al Borges maybe? He had cadillac williams and ronnie brown and was able to get them both on the field at the same time, thus maximizing the threats on offense. Heck any coordinator in the SEC would be an upgrade at this point.

After the bowl game and you go get the guy at Houston or seriously see if Weis is interested.
eta: Al Borges is a good one too. That would be interesting to say the least.

Boise state offensive coordinator. Dont know who it is, but they constantly have a badass offense with mediocre players, and they do it year after year against everyone. Or does Chris Peterson call plays...?

Gotta be before the bowl game. That month of down time could be crucial for recruiting. Let these recruits know that this year is not acceptable. Let them get excited about the new possibility.

On yesterday's Ott show on his segment with Lee Feinswog, he suggested that if Weiss is fired from N.D. that we should go after him for O.C. His rationale was that his offenses at N.D. have improved steadily up to this year and that defense was N.D.'s biggest problem. I tend to agree with what he said that Weiss is still one of the best offensive coaches around.

IF Crowton goes, Les will hold on to him until after the bowl game. Come on! You know Les.
It is going to be an exhaustive effort that will affect recruiting.
Now, if we lose badly to Arky, Les is going to find himself firmly on the hot seat and that may speed up the process. Lombardi and the board will not hesitate in this scenario to push him hard. shite will get real.

Is it even a sure thing that Crowton is gone?

Well hell.
That does away with at least 75 percent of all LSU fans.

no. this is the secondary wish after realizing the $18mill buyout insulates Les.

No - not at all. My guess is that it will happen, but definitely not a sure thing.

I doubt it would ever happen, but it would be great to have Norm Chow. Imagine how he could help with the development of our quarterbacks.
We would pay him more but I've read he likes the West Coast.

Charlie Weiss will not coach again in college, he wouldn't even come to LSU anyway. But I would take him in a heartbeat. As an OC he is great. He's won a couple SB's, so he has street cred.

to recap a list of people mentioned:
1. Sonny Dykes-Arizona. Has averaged over 400 yards plus 2 years with 2 different qb's, adjusts to his talent
2. Shawn Watson-Nebraska. Runs a hybrid spread/ west coast power offense. Lots of 2 TE power runs with a mix of zone read & option look.
3. Paul Chryst-Wisconsin. Power run game with lots of screens & quick passing attack.
4. Al Borges-San Diego State. Balanced offense, history of developing qb's
5. Todd Monken-WR's Jacksonville-former LSU assistant, considered for OC when we hired crowton, likely on same page with miles.
6. Dirk Koetter-Jacksonville. Maybe a bit too pass happy for miles
7. Mike Shula-QB's jacksonville. former SEC head coach
8. Chuck Long-Former OU OC & san diego state HC-great developer of QB's and had potent offenses at OU
9. Steve Kragthorpe-Louisville. Had great offenses at tulsa & tamu. Has NFL experience.
10. Clint Conque-Central Arkansas HC. Always good offenses wherever he has been, wanted TE job that yano got.

I think LSU should save money and pick someone from this board, which is populated with people who obviously are far more capable of making teenage boys perform like seasoned NFL professionals than anyone on the current coaching staff.
