Sorry - that's BS and it has not been debunked. I've watched the video several times and if you try to read that into it, fine, but you surely can read the spike motion into it too. He was cusping his hand like he would be holding a football when he was making his arm movement down; if he was saying someone was down, he'd point his fingers out.
