Friday night, November 27, 7 pm, at Lloyd G. Porter Stadium. For our visiting guests, the stadium is not at Westgate High School. The Stadium is located in New Iberia at 400 Center St. Take Highway 90 towards Lafayette and exit at the Highway 14 exit. Take a right at the light onto Hwy 14, and head north into town. Hwy 14 becomes Center St., so just stay on the same road for about 2 1/2 to 3 miles until you come to the stadium on your right.

1st Round:
#21 Westgate beat #12 Mandeville - 21-14
#4 Central B.R. beat #29 NISH - 56-21

2nd Round:
#21 Westgate beat #5 South Lafourche - 26-2
#4 Central B.R. beat # 13 Ouachita 29-28

Good luck to both teams. Hope for an injury free game.

Lloyd G. Porter.. I remember witnessing some domestic abuse while warming up for a soccer game there.

Westgate wins IMO. There always seems to be at least one team from the New Iberia area that makes an unexpected deep run every season.

I guess, that was one of my favorite places to play. You always witnessed something hilarious.

I predict westgate 42-8. I've watched hours of tape on both teams fwiw.

I don't think it will be a blow out by any team. I heard Central has #1 offense in the State?

That team every year is Westgate, although we did miss the playoffs last year. 2006- quarter finalists 2007- semi-finalists

Yeah because Central hasn't had an away game yet. Which means the home team goes to the team that traveled the most in the playoffs.

Thanks for the info. I'll probably make the trip. Congrats on the win tonight and good luck (of course in a losing effort ) next week.

I'm sure I'll be working...

But I'm hoping to talk my editor into letting me go cover this game. Because this is the ONE game I want to see...although Da Berry is gonna have some doozys next week.

Central-Westgate and Redemptorist-Catholic(NI) in the same night? Good night for New Iberia sports imho...
