very few hate miles. most feel, however, that he is the 3rd best coach in the SEC, and we have to play the 2 best coached teams every year, and we may not ever beat them again.
that's not hate. it's depression.

I would look at Saban's bowl and SEC Championship game record and state that he's overrated as far as game prep and in-game adjustments.
Last year's Sugar Bowl was an absolutely coaching massacre handed to Saban and the Tide.
Miles is a keeper - he may be poor in clock management and discipline (false starts, etc), but his recruiting, relationships with his team, and grasp of "new football" (going for it on 4th and 2 at the opposing 36 yard line) more than makes up for it. With the exception of the La Tech game (total letdown game) we've improved week over week all season. Let's wait to see how we finish v's Ole Miss and Arkansas before we chalk this up as anything other than great.
11-2 and top 5 ranking with top 5 recruiting classes bookending on both sides is terrific.

What are your criteria?
If you include recruiting and character he's no lower than 3rd.

and frustration over play calling. I think most people calling for his job would much rather see him stay and just stop the insanity that is the offensive play calling.

then go find another team to bandwagon for.

he's about 6th in the sec in coaching, about even with richt, the underachiever. miles, is poor in game management skills and communication.

I don't hate Miles. I have become concerned about the lack of preparation for teams on a weekly basis. It seems that if LSU's opponent is not Florida or Alabama, or if LSU is not coming off an open week, or does not have a month to prepare for a bowl game, then LSU does not have a well thought out game plan to attack the other team's weaknesses.
Look at last week's performance against Louisiana Tech as an example. LSU's approach to Tech, just as its approach to UW, ULL, Vandy, Miss. St., Georgia and Tulane seemed to be that LSU's talent is better, so it does not matter whether there is any coherent design on offense, defense and special teams, because LSU's talent will ultimately prevail.
Well, as evidenced by the Tech outcome, LSU is not good enough talent and experience wise just to show up and dominate anymore. Just two years ago, LSU played a decent Middle Tennessee team with backup QB Ryan Perriloux starting and won handily. Fast forward to the Tech game last week, and LSU barely hung on and, quite frankly, should have lost.
So, with LSU developing younger players, Miles and his staff's ability to coach and make adjustments is being put front and center. Thus far, the results in terms of wins and losses have been good, but the quality of play is not leaving any LSU fan feeling very confident about the direction of the program.

Is Urban the 10 that everybody would hit and Miles the girl "with the good personality"

And if you think UF and Bama aren't going to experience a dropoff next yr, then your delusional.

Bama, undefeated regular season last year in Saban's 2nd year as coach and likely undefeated regular season this year. Urban Meyer, two National Championships at the University of Florida and another very likely this year.

LSU has had 25 players drafted by the NFL in Miles' tenure.
Were they highly recruited when they got here? Most of them, yes. But somebody's been coaching them during that time enough that NFL teams like their development and want to give them buckets of money.
A player's potential when he gets to college does not give him a shot in the NFL. Somebody at LSU is developing them pretty well.
You may not like some or alot of his decisions...I know I don't. But give the man his due.
Every team lays an egg from time to time. Ours happened to be last week. At least we didn't lose to ULM or get arse raped by Stanford

This.
Personally, I believe LSU's goal should be to get to Atlanta for the SEC championship game, not to Atlanta for the Chick Filet Bowl and another post season win...yeah.

So the only time Miles we beat UF and Bama is when they have a down season. Thats refreshing.

Yeah - and we would have likely gotten there (in this a year which most experts picked us to finish 3rd in the West) if not for some killer injuries during the Bama game coupled with some horrible officiating.
So what the heck is the problem?
