That doesn't mean I have to like it.

That is no reflection on Miles.
The horrible offensive showing against Tech is a DIRECT reflection on Miles and his coaches. Their inability to get any offensive production from a running game that was successful and not using a talented freshman QB over a deer in the headlights, damaged goods backup shows a sincere disregard for reality at worst and questionable judgment at best.

Perhaps the coaches noticed that Shepard was a less than 50% passer in high school and that his rush attempts outnumbered his pass attempts by more than 2-to-1. He may throw from the wildcat sometime soon but he's far from ready to lead a top 10 team from the pocket, may never be. Kudos to the coaches for not throwing him to the dogs.

The Tech game was the perfect time to see what you really have in Jarrett Lee. I think they probably know the answer now that they've given him a thorough and fair shake against a beatable opponent. If a mistake was made with Lee, it was asking him to do too much too soon last year. Then again, after Scott bolted out of the gate, we were being dared to throw. Again, kudos to the coaches for not making the same mistake this year even though the opposing defenses have taken a similar approach. The payoff is that Jefferson is finally starting to make opponents pay for it.

College football fans need to have more than half a season's worth of patience. Go look up the records of the best coaches who have had decades of success at one program. You will see ups and downs, pretty and ugly, fortune and misfortune with championships mixed in and a sustained record of success.

As a graduate of LSU, I am proud of the way they play, the record of success, and the manner in which the whole program conducts itself. I wish I could say the same for the parts of the fan base that boo teenage student athletes off the field at Tiger Stadium.

Perhaps, or maybe having our starting QB, TB, Center, and TE not play had just a tad to do with it...ya think?
