LSU should quit playing in-state schools ...

The Tech game is exactly the reason LSU shouldn't schedule and play in-state schools.
- When LSU beats any in-state school by 30 or more points all you hear is LSU has better athletes, more money and they should be better.
- Yet when an in-states school makes it a game or LSU is flat with a back-up QB and the in-state school barely loses or comes within 8 points then everyone wants to knows why LSU is declining and the sky is falling?
- It is also hard to put your heart into yelling "Tiger Bait" or "Go to Hell (fill in state school)" at these type games. Other than The Greenie Weenies, do LSU fans really care about beating the other wanna-be schools of the state?
- I know the argument about playing schools in Louisiana helps keep that money in the state; however it would be better to play Mid Florida Gulf of Mexico State University or North Canada Tech and give them the money. That way you wouldn't have to hear from delusional in-state fans from Tech, ULL, ULM or Tulane comparing their teams to LSU.
- My memory is failing as I get older, somebody tell me what in-state school is the last one to beat LSU in football?

MrKnowitAll, I like your signature quote: a throwback to the old Faces album title?

Three in one year is a disgrace.

But that is a true statement.

Come on... this is the first time it's been done. And maybe the last.

I think Skip Bertman said it was to draw some interest to the OOC games. The reasoning was that state schools would buy more tickets than UAB would.

Tulane in the 80's.

You said you were getting older, I guess that statement proves it.
I grew up and still a die-hard LSU fan but then NLU came with scholly money and that's where the parents sent me. I say that to say, I think many LSU fans believe the other schools only dream is to beat LSU. Yea, it would be nice but these mid-majors are playing Texas and Florida every year, the fans and players aren't awe-struck about playing in Baton Rouge.
I don't know specifics but makes sense to keep the money here. I'd much rather see a LSU/Tech game than LSU/E. Michigan.
I agree, 1 per year only.

Damn the Centenary teams of "32" and "33" must have been tough. Was Curly Hallman or Curly Howard the coach at LSU then?

ummmmm......see Troy state last year?
My point is LSU just isn't going to get up for these games and come out flat regardless if in state or out of state. I'd rather see LSU play LA Tech than Troy St. JMHO.

During the period from 1930 to 1934, Centenary beat Iowa, Baylor, Arkansas, Ole Miss, SMU, Texas A&M, and LSU; and tied Texas and TCU.
