Does anyone have a problem with this? I tried to see if a thread was started on this yet, but I felt the hit on TT would have definitely been a personal foul, and possibly even an ejection if it was on a Julio Jones or equivalent.

What's your thoughts?

i don't think using forearms to tackle a WR making a catch violates any rule in the book

Hit was fine.

Be mad at Lee for a horrible throw and almost getting TT hurt bad

Nice physical hit. But if this was lsu against bama with J. Jones taking the hit, it would have been a personal foul.

Are y'all blind? He jumped up like a missile leading with his helmet.

Perfect throw.

If you like the hit, then credit the defender and not blame Lee.

Didn't merit an ejection - but anyone who says it wasn't a penalty wasn't watching the game. Helmet to helmet, no doubt. Even the commentator was all over it. I think it is pretty inexcusable that the official didn't catch it, he was standing at a great angle to see it. That said, TT seemed fine later in the game and we won, so I'm not too worried about it.

Yea, some blind people in this thread. It was a flagrant hit and should have at the minimum been a personal foul.

This.

You can't do that in NCAA football, it is a penalty and should be punished according to the severity of the infraction (not the consequence - it shouldn't matter if the player getting hit is hurt or not).

The defender didn't even have his arms up in the air, from what I remember seeing.

Are you fricking kidding me. He launched at him and hit him square in the facemask with the top of his helmet.

Watch the replay of the game on the SEC network.

I saw it dozens of times...Tech player launched with forearms first into TT's head. Didn't care about the ball.

don't blame it on Lee????

That was certainly not a perfect throw. If you'd like to see how that throw is done see RP's TD pass to Byrd in the 2007 SEC title game. The whole point is to put it behind the corner and in front of the safety, and to do that effectively it needs some zip on it. Lee threw it late and not with enough velocity, so by the time the ball hit TT, so did the safety.

On the upside, I really like the play call. And i'm not calling for Lee's head. He didn't play well, but I don't blame it all on him and think he has the potential to play much better than that.

Was a blatant headhunter move by the Tech defensive back. Personal foul.

The a-hole tech fan behind me was gloating about how "that is how we do it at tech" and calling LSU pussies.

That guy single handedly made me not like LT.

I was sitting about 9 rows up right in front of the hit, and what i remember is his forearms and his helmet made contact with TT's head and it appeared to be he was purposely trying to hit TT in his head on a defenseless receiver which should have been a penalty.

Helmet-to-helmet should have been the call. I don't think the defender intentionally went for the helmet, so an ejection was not warranted. It looked like he was trying to make the ESPN highlights.

As far as blaming Lee..... He is not a good QB, but that throw was on the money. It was a laser to TT's back shoulder on a comeback route and up high so TT could use his 6'5" height. It was one of Lee's few good throws.
