I Still Stand By The Fact That...

When JJ went out, R. Sheppard should have come in at QB. The kid was the #1 recruit in the nation for a reason. Oh, I know "he's not ready" "doesn't have the playing experience yet" blah blah blah, whatever. I still believe that god given ability can take-over in certain situations. We all know Sheppard has plenty of that. Let the kid play. Let him run the "Wildcat", let him throw a few passes. What was the alternative? Jarret Lee. Well, we saw the outcome of that. We would have been in a better situation if Sheppard came in. Sad to say, being that the kid is a true freshman, and Lee has much more experience. But it's true. Sheppard needs to be ready to go, in case Jefferson can't go. Would much rather see Sheppard than Lee.

RS doesn't know what to do 50% of the time he goes in for a play.

The funny thing about that is all season people on this forum have been calling for Jarrett Lee to at a minimum play a few series each game and some wanted him to start. I wonder how many people still believe that.

Kid doesn't know where to line up on the few plays he is in. Yet, you want him to be the qb?
I LOVE Shep and have high hopes for him, but he is NOT ready for that.

Then that's a coaching issue if he doesn't know what to do.

That's just what we need, a QB who doesn't know what the plays are and wonders around burning up timeouts like crazy while someone shows him where to go.
This is SEC football, not HS. Can't sketch out plays in the huddle on the turf. . .

and the first time he throws a pic, then everyone will say, put him back in the percy harvin roll.
have you ever seen him throw? it's not pretty.
garrett, on the other hand, throws the prettiest ball out of the five.
there's a reason why shep doesn't warm up with the q.b.'s during pre-game.

#1 recruit in the nation and he's not ready for that? Hmm, ok. If that's true, then the coaches need to get him ready.

Not the player's fault at all? None whatsoever?

The Coach is still there, RS still doesn't know what to do.
Not a realistic move.

#1 Dual threat qb. Not ovar all recruit.

Dude, some things only happen with time. The young man is AWESOME, but to expect him to succeed as you are implying is crazy

Sadly, I actually agree that this is a coaching issue. There are plenty of Freshman around the country at major programs that have been coached well enought to come in and play. AND, many of them did not attend all of the spring practices.

I believe getting a few series a game, more than the 1 or 2 he got during Auburn and Tulane, could have made a difference in his play against Alabama.
