I'm noticing more Houma residents posting here

Slightly unrelated question;
Do you mind listing your regular places as well?

I have a camp in Dularge and haven't run across much to eat while waiting on people in Houma. TIA

Eh well there isn't much in Houma...all the seafood shacks are decent: Big Al's, Hebert's, Dave's, Spahrs.

I like Cafe Milano but that gets kinda pricey to be eating there regularly

Emerald Thai I go to every now and then

For Sushi I usually go to Osaka or Zen. I think Osaka has a better selection of non sushi related Japanese foods. I went to Ichiban once and the service was just awful. Food was pretty good though. I might have to give it another try. Hopefully they've sharpened up since then.

I know that Kristiano's is pretty good but again kinda expensive for casual dining.

Other than that every now and then I'll go to Copeland's or another chain in the MLK area...

It's not the good Tex mex that you're probably thinking of but for some somewhat authentic places try: Los Potosino's (Grand Caillou and Industrial), or Taqueria Puebla on Main St on the west side.

i'll have to try that, i'm actually a fan of authentic mexican food...i love a good mole sauce. i know pinata's offers a mole dish, but it wasnt as good as some others i've tried.

My fave place in Houma is Spahr's. I used to manage the steakhouse in downtown, La Poste, but Houma at that point in time just couldn't support a HIGH END steakhouse.

I know a guy that used to be a server there (or if I remember correctly he was a server)

Houma really needs a good Greek/Lebanese place. Way too much hibachi and chinese buffets.

For seafood I like:
Bayou Delight
Spahr's
Big Al's
Sportsman's Paradise (Chauvin)

I haven't tried Ichiban yet but we usually go to Samuri Dragon for sushi.

Once in a while we will eat at the higher end places. It is hard to beat the atmosphere in Melvin's but the food is probably better at Cafe Dominique. I haven't eaten at Cafe Milano in quite a while but Christiano's has an edge over them to me.
