I remember going to games in the Dome as a kid in the late 70's and early 80's and hearing the "Who Dat!" chants from the Atl fans when the Falcons came to town. It seemed to me that those fans dropped the chant and then we picked it up. Anybody else remember it this way?

To get down to brass tax here... New Orleans actually owns the origins of the chant as it began in the 1800's with the minstrel performers on the streets of NO. Cincinnati claims that they started using a rendition of it in the 70's (WHO DEY ? ... WTF ?) and ATL picked it up somewhere along the way. ATL has since dropped it, Cinci wants to claim their version as their own, and make it their war cry, but we know the truth, and its never been bigger in New Orleans.

there is only one right now that matters.

Yes it was definitely used in New Orleans in the late 1800s. It was also used by St. Augustine Highschool and Southern University in around 1960s. That's about all that needs to be said. No wany any other pro sports team used it before this. It was born in Nola and will stay in Nola.
