Once again I didn't like the Davie Jones Locker. I really think Bob Davie did some dirt in Destrehan back in the day. He got tight lipped about it real quick. Maybe Destrehan is shady like Welsh.

I noticed that too. He was probably giving the kill signal (finger to throat) to the play by play guy off camera.

It made me laugh the way Davie couldn't remember Tulane's name and kept referring to them as 'some non-conference team'.

Davie in my view, is the best color man, on ESPN. He gives an informed view of teams, looks for positives, and does his homework -- instead of many of the other color guys on all networks who bring their self-rightous opions -- i.e. Hebie, Danielson....

How about when there was an illegal hands to the face and Davie says " and that's why you can't lead with your helmet. The refs are really looking out for that this year." That is top notch broadcasting.

Bob Davie likes Louisiana. I bet you anything he visit here once and fell in love with the place. Must have been a hot girl he was with, and some great folks he met. That man have nothing but love for LSU. Even when we are down and people are dissing us, he have faith in our ability to turn it around.

All you can ask of a broadcaster is that he call it like he sees it. I think both those guys do that.
The Davie Jones Locker is so campy it needs to be scrapped though. There's really no point to it other than to demonstrate that some enterprising intern at ESPN put the connection together.

Bob Davie was an assistant at Tulane for 2 years beore he was DC at aTm.
He knows college football. But, I find the halting pace of his talking to be a bit annoying.
The most positive thing about him is he has a lot of respect for LSU and its traditions. Remember he has coached against LSU at Tulane, aTm and ND.

Davie gave LSU a lot of good comments. You can tell that he enjoys calling our games. He even said a number of times that we could get our act together and take out Bama and meet Florida again. I enjoyed him more than that shite-head Danielson.

Danielson is not the problem, it's Verne. Verne makes anyone working with him appear retarded. Danielson is very good, but would be super good with the right play by play guy. Davie is ok, and very pro LSU, but he just doesn't notice the little things as well as Danielson.

I didn't hear all of this praise for Davie and Jones after the Washington game when they did NOTHING but talk up the Washington team, coaching staff, crowd, etc. I think that all of their over the top praise for LSU this week was their attempt to make it up to LSU fans for completely sucking up to Washington during the first game.
P.S. Bob Davie is the worst announcer on T.V. Even the sound of his voice bothers me.
