haven't seen a lot of talk about our remaining 3-5 prospective signees and what this season has done. (maybe that's because i don't read this forum very often).

but i'm watching janzen jackson right now playing almost every down and playing really well. i watch that and know that there's no way he'd be playing here because of two reasons - our depth and our hesitancy to play freshman.

so my question is this - is there any confirmation at all that coaches have actively been using miles and shepard as ammo against us.

Could you clarify your question?

have any coaches gone up to seastrunk and said 'oh you're considering lsu? that's interesting, what do you think of miles' handling of russel shepard?'

or 'lsu promised you playing time? lol. see what they did to shepard, you can't trust them.'

seastrunk and shepard could be be susbituted for any recruiting prospect and virtually any freshman at lsu.

Um yes, but I also think recruits are asking this themselves.

well doesn't matter now. all it takes is one big game to wipe all that away. i think this game somewhat erases the freshman playing time theory.

Unfortunately for us - No I don't think so - you know why because of this

I had such hopes for our recruiting and now that SFP has validated his point by his stating so - I am down in the dumps

If I were a recruit, I don't think it would matter if I played in yr 1-4, or 2-5, so long as I played, got a good education and played for a winner......LSU is a winner!!!!!!

you do realize countless playmakers touched the ball tonight. And several freshmen.

So it's a bullshite angle.

Brandon Taylor isn't exactly an upper classman so it would have been BT or Jazen if he had stayed with his committment.

Thats just recruiting. The arguement will change after last night. "How are you going to get time ahead of Shep?" And so on and so on. Recruiting angles are always in flux, and its the, whatever it takes to persuade, game. The game last night made a HUGE statement, and closed alot of the houpla(Don't play freshmen, problems with Offense,Don't throw downfield).Last night = BOOM.

Yes, I agree last night was big regarding the freshman playing time. but, it has to continue.
shepard, randle, d. allen, downs, if these 4 guys all play a lot then the question is answered. you can play at LSU as a freshman, but as with PP last year it takes a while to get playing time.

The reverse question works the same though. Yes you want the best players in the country to play for you, but if they aren't better than the players older/ahead of them, then unless you are winning by alot, why play them?

takes time to learn the system and get up to game speed at this level. bb from tenn. has played some and not that impressively. we do play alot of freshman and those that learn quickly do get the chance. more as season goes on. we send alot of players to the next level who didnt start or get sig. playing time for more than 1 year and theyre not beat up. dont think it hurts us.

Janzen Jackson would not be starting at a lot of places FWIW, but Tennessee has needed some major overhaul.

I would say that the playing time angle would sway Reed with Toliver and Randle and all the WRs we have coming in this year, and the absolute beasts we have coming in next year.

As far as Lache goes, his competition is going to be Murphy and Ridley. Neither of them have proved anything throughout their careers at LSU. As far as he's concerned, he'd be on nearly equal footing with them.

I would worry that he would be concerned with how we use Keilland.
