The D couldn't get off the field. On 3rd down, UF was 5/12, yet when your yards per play is over 5, you don't need to convert many. They were gifted a few conversions by penalty and had 22 first downs.
Florida only scored on 3/9 of their drives. However, they took a knee on a one play drive to end the first half, and they had a game ending drive of 6 plays and 12 yards. On that last drive they got a first down, then started kneeling. They also missed a relatively short FG, and threw an INT on the second play of a drive that started at the LSU 36. So, two of those nine drives were clock killers only. The INT came after a 3 yard run. Tebow was not worried about a turnover with the ball on the LSU 36, so he went for a playaction kill-shot with 6 minutes left. Jai spoiled that. Unfortunatley, he gave us the ball inside the 5 yard line.
Only on 6 of the 9 drives did Florida try to actually drive the football. If we take those 6 drives and look at the yardage gained, the Tigers D got shredded in yards per drive and TOP.
The good things were the Red Zone D and the lack of many big plays. They were stingy around the goaline as the field shortened and only gave up 13 points.
